| Story behind your Yorkie(s) name? I think it's very interesting to see the backstory as to how you picked your pet's name...whether it was because it's cute, because it has meaning, or it kind of just picked itself Luma's name was supposed to be Bijou. It is french for "tiny jewel" and that about sums up a little girl yorkie! Unfortunately my boyfriend was already against the idea of a frou-frou dog and hated the name... and so we thought about his interests. Videogames. Typical 20 year old guy. There's a cute little floating yellow star who is very loveable, and it's name is Luma. And so we picked Luma. It's still cute D I love it!

| I chose Violet for my first Yorkie, because it is a sweet little flower, and that is what she is. Laurel is actually named for a little town that my hubby and I visited, plus Violet and Laurel are both in the botanical theme. When we got Hardy, my hubby named him . He has never go to name any of our fluffs, so he got to name Hardy. Hardy's name is actually Sir Hardesty of Countrywood! |

| Jackson came about because my mom & I had just walked Walk The Line - the movie about Johnny Cash. His song 'Jackson' was our favorite. 'I'm goin' to Jackson....." LOL. Well, when it came time to naming him, it was the one that stuck. I kept looking at his picture and saying other names, and none fit. Jackson is soooo him. Though it's becoming popular in baby names and creeping up with dog names too. Here I thought I was being all original. lol. Oh well. I can't imagine him being named anything else. Oh, also a big MJ fan, so it totally fits for us.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Yes you did; Juicy is a unique kind of name. Well Razzle got his name, cause he is going to be an agility dog. Plus when I met that dear one, he was just zooming around the room, with his eyes so bright, his ears standing up; the name just fit. Then when it came time to register him, I thought (in the native Indian way), a name is real important, and I just don't want a Razzle scamp, I want a dog with discretion and judgement, so I named him" Sir Razzle Dazzle. So far I'm waiting for discretion and judgement' but he sure dazzles all in the ring, and most importantly in my eyes.

| These names are all so cute and unique! I loved Teddy for a yorkie..but its so common now D: I always appreciated that my parents named me Carmen and not well..Ashley. Luma is cute and girly yet very unique..never heard of anyone calling their dog Luma. When I texted my parents with the name they thought I misspelled it...they told everyone I named her Luna :P

| We called our new yorkie "Howie" (short for Howard) because there is a Yorkshire Regiment (amalgmated with several other regiments now) called The Green Howards. It was funny 'cos the breeder put a green ribbon around his neck for i.d. when he was born not knowing we were planning on calling him after The Green Howards, and to us, that was the deciding factor !!! |

| Since we adopted Tessie when she was 2 1/2 years old- we didn't get to name her. Her original mom's name was Cam- so her registered full name is actually "Cam's Little Contessa." She is our sweet little girl

| Laddy was named by the breeder and it fit him so we kept it....Kyra was named Katie when we got her but we love the reruns of the Reba show and our favorite person on it Kyra because she reminds us so much of our oldest grandaughter. Hence her name and it fits her quite well.

| My mom used to pick Lola up and sing "Her name was LOLA she was a SHOWGIRL!" The name kinda just stuck after that.

| I don't really remember how I came up with Riot's name, but I had it picked out about a year or more before I got him lol. I was talking to a co-worker a while back about a girl who used to work with us and she recently had a baby and names his Chaos. I said that's a good name for a dog but a terrible name for a person, and I just kind of decided my next dog would be Chaos, and now finally I'm getting the chance to use it!

| Great names! I love Riot and Chaos too. Well I named Joel after the Good Charlotte singer, and I named my guinea pig Benji which is the twin brother lol. But it's so annoying that everyone says Joel isnt a dog name and to top it off they they say its a girl name and pronounce it like you say Noel but with a J, but its supposed to sound like Jole. And my little half sister accidently calls him Jewel because she thinks hes a girl, poor Joel isnt going to feel manly now! Lol Arg! Its frustrating! |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Eddie was a rehome, and his name was Teddy, TJ for short. But my wife's ex was named TJ, and she didn't want a name that would remind her of him. She chose Eddie because because it rhymed with Teddy. Jack (RIP) was a rescue named Cuddles. He was 4 pounds and frail, and Cuddles wasn't macho enough for me. I changed to Jack Daniels because it sounded manly. I insisted on naming Jillie. My wife wanted to name her Bijou. ( If I'd known what Bijou meant I might have gone for it!). But we'd just loss Jack, and I wanted a tribute to him: Jill, ala Jack and Jill. My wife refused, and we were at a deadlock. Finally, she said if I would call her Jillian Bijou, she'd go for it. I agreed -- with my fingers crossed. I call her Jill when my wife isn't around.

Oh, and I'm Sally....so my husband chose his name (as in the film?!!) Sally + Harry x |
