| white patches? I am not sure I have read that wite paches on the chest are normal but I want to know if white patches on top of the head between the ears are normal. One of the pups I am looking at getting has a white spot on the top of its head. I can't find anywhere on line if that's normal or if that means that its a mix.

| How old is the pup? Lots of yorkies get a white spot on the top of their head and it is the beginning of their coat changing to an adult coat. My girl had it at 12 weeks old

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | All yorkie and silky puppies are born with a little white patch on the chest that eventually dissapears, my babies still have theirs and they are 34 days old, the patch starts growing out as the puppy coat grows out.. so at 12 weeks a little white patch on the chest on the puppy hair is ok.. are you sure that the littler hair on top of the head is not the lighter tan , gold growing under the puppy coat?, some puppies look baldy when the lighter tan starts showing below the dark puppy coat..lol hugs, Last edited by carmen in nj; 02-13-2012 at 09:56 AM. |

| My breeder told me this whole story about how white means there a "parti mix" and its rare or something, because Joel had white on him. But I think he realy believes it because first I got Joel for $700 because we thouht he was a mix but then he found out it was a full yorkie and let the price stay, so its not like hes ripping me off and second he asked if later he can breed Joel so thats why I think he realy believes it. |

| Ziva's hair was turning white when I got her, it grew in silver and stayed that way til she was almost two. She now has a beautiful rich gold color- never thought she could change this much. Abby at 7 months has a gey/ silver head just coming in. |

| Parti is full yorkie. Just not standard. I have a Biewer (BTCA) and (AKC) yorkie "mix" but still full yorkie. (Mom and Dad here Our Puppies Cricket and Toby) Jimmy has a little white on his chest still and he is 7 months. I was reading that it's ok, even for breed standard AKC, that a small amount of white on the chest, is ok Disqualifications: American Kennel Club - Yorkshire Terrier Any solid color or combination of colors other than blue and tan as described above. Any white markings other than a small white spot on the forechest that does not exceed 1 inch at its longest dimension.

| Cody's whole head turned a silvery white and is just now, at 6.5 months, starting to turn tan around his ears and muzzle. I think it's pretty normal. |
