| wanting a playmate for Rocky I just happend along this site. I am pleased to have found it. I noticed you have two yorkies and want more. I am hoping you could put me at ease on the idea of two yorkies. I have a 4 year old furbaby - Rocky 7lbs. He adores me, hence is my baby. I work 3.5 hours a day, just started. I have two kids 13 years, and 8 years. The too love Rocky! ((smile)) Being new to leaving Rocky to work I feel just awful. He gives me the tail down and poor me look, breaks my heart. I am a pooch lover. I have been thinking for some time, 2 years, abut getting him a playmate. What i am worried about is: 1. )the two not getting along, 2. )Rocky feeling put aside, 3. ) my DH is worried about not getting another one that is as well behaved as Rocky. I think all yorkies are well behaved unless they have been neglected. Rocky is house trained meaning he uses a piddle pad year round, not the great outdoors. Gets to cold here in Minnesota for h im to go out in the wiinter. Or is that me?!?! I want him to be happy when we leave from time to time. Our best friends have a Golden, which is Rockys best friend. Am I gong in the rright direction? Thanks for your input. Oh yea the breeder we bought Rocky from is where we will be getting the other one. She mentioned to bring Rocky to see if he picks one out! Kare (carrie) & Rocky One more funny the next would be named Bullwinkle! |

| That is so nice of your breeder to let you take Rockey with you. I am sure the two will be fine, they just need to meet in a neutral area so Rockey does not feel threatened. They will come around. Good Luck, and I know many more people will have better advice on this situation. Oh and by the way. Welcom to Yorkie Talk.

| Playmate response Thanks for the information. I just started today after my daughter went to school, asking Rocky if he wants to go find Bullwinkle? His ears perked up and he ran over to jingle his bell on this harness. This means I want to go! So I feel I am exciting him. I told him we needed to get his baby. Cocks the head and looks about. Are they not the most animated? Thanks for the welcome. Looking forward to being here amongst yorkie lovers! Kare |

| I've always wanted two. When we got Lexi, we decided we'd see how well we did with potty training, etc. since she was our first puppy. Now that we've done so well, I want ANOTHER! I've been browsing but I think I've decided that I should wait until we come back from vacation at the beginning of May. Although the kids will be home with Lexi, I'm not comfortable with leaving them with a brand new puppy. I'd rather wait until I get back and can devote full time to him/her. The anticipation is killing me. I imagine that I'll get to California and not even enjoy myself because I'll be thinking of the search for a furbaby when we get back!!!

| Tricia, I so hope you will find a mentor and work with that person for a long time before deciding to put 2 dogs together to make puppies. Buying another puppy and waiting to learn all you can about breeding is a very good idea. And, Carrie, a responsible breeder will always have the other household members and dogs come to their home for an interview. I cannot imagine placing a puppy without doing that so it sounds as if you have found a responsible person. And, heaven help that poor Golden. These Yorkies have their numbers..LOL You will be amazed how quickly they will sort out the leader and I can almost guarantee that it will NOT be the big dog!!! I love the temperment these Yorkies have.. |

| Rocky LOL whyis it the little guys seek out the bigger guys?!?! Cutter is the Golden and he is sooo good with Rocky when we vaction together. They eat and drink out of each others bowls. Rocky is usually staning under Cutter and waiting his turn. ON the other hand Cutter has a cat in his house too, and growls and shows teeth whenever Mr. Tibbles (cat) tries to get too nea the food and water! I just talked to Sandi ans we are going to make an appointment next week to meet the puppies. Rocky comes too. I just posted a picture of Rocky in the gallery. Any one else beleive they idea that who ever holds the dog for the ride home is the one it will be closer too? I was the one to hold Rocky, go figure, and he likes to sleep tucked in my belly, or across my neck! I love chatting with ya'll Kare |

| I know how you feel, I had Buddy for a year then got Jake. Now I am looking for a female Yorkie. Not to breed with the others, they have been neutered. I hope Rocky picks out the perfect playmate! My husband & I had taken Budyy with us to pick out his playmate, but he didn't want anything to do with Jake for the first few months. Now they are inseparable. So do not get discouraged if things don't go as expected. Good Luck! My frinds Yorkie had EIGHT puppies, she just stopped by with the FOUR that she is keeping. 2 males and 2 females....they are soooo addorable. Her daughter named the runt "Kit" he is so cute. Now it is a need not a want! Last edited by gyesso; 03-09-2005 at 12:56 PM. |

| Rocky Thanks for the input. I need the encouragement. I just do not want Rocky to feel replaced. I love the yorkies and I am thinking of Rocky and I know how my kids like playdates, and I like to be social too. Why Not Rocky too? |
