| bleeding gums I brush abbey's 2.5 yr teeth once a wk..today while brushing mild blood spots??? what can I do? she eats and chews fine! |

| If the bleeding continues, I would have your vet take a look to see if it is time for a dental cleaning and to make sure that a tooth hasn't gone bad. It's best to have teeth examined at least once a year.

| You may also consider increasing the frequency of her brushing. I brush Chloes teeth almost every night (I have missed some here and there) I was sick once and didnt brush her teeth for a full week and there was a bit of gum bleeding. I guess their just like us, if you dont brush often enough you get bleeding gums I would certainly talk to your vet though as it is very possible as Maximo said that she needs her teeth cleaned. Hopefully its not a bad tooth. |

| The bleeding would concern me. I brush Levi's teeth several times per week, and have never seen any bleeding at all. I'd get the vet to look at those gums and teeth. Levi's vet pays special attention to his mouth at every annual visit.
