Oh, Jenn:

Speaking from experience, getting her ashes will be very emotional for you. When I got Pike's back, they had it packaged in a little floral box. I have that box out on a chest, to this day, surrounded by flowers, candles, a buddha - it's not really a "shrine", all the stuff had already been there and when I put the little box up front, it all made sense.

Every morning when I wake up, I walk past it to go into the kitchen to make coffee and I pet the top. It brings me comfort to know that he is still here with me and I can be around him every day. Keep Katie out. Have her around. It will be sad and painful at first, but eventually it will be comforting just to know she is there

It is good that you have your new little baby in just a few more hours! Try to focus on the positive that is happening... Your Katie will always be in your heart and she would want her Mommy to focus on all the fun and cute things you did together... and this new little sister...

I know it is not actually bringing Katie back home, but in a sense you are bringing her back to the family where she belongs and at the same time you are bringing home your newest addition. You, Jim, Codie, Katie and 'Baby Girl - not yet named ' are all ONE FAMILY.

I agree - this is a nice way to try to look at this - I know you'll be crying and I just wanted to say again how sorry I am for the loss of Katie - but now you have new adventures with your baby to be....I hope she can help you over your loss.
