Speaking from experience, getting her ashes will be very emotional for you. When I got Pike's back, they had it packaged in a little floral box. I have that box out on a chest, to this day, surrounded by flowers, candles, a buddha - it's not really a "shrine", all the stuff had already been there and when I put the little box up front, it all made sense.

Every morning when I wake up, I walk past it to go into the kitchen to make coffee and I pet the top. It brings me comfort to know that he is still here with me and I can be around him every day. Keep Katie out. Have her around. It will be sad and painful at first, but eventually it will be comforting just to know she is there
