| New here. Hi!!! Just wanted to say "hi". Charlie was born October 10, 2011 and I received him in December. He is such a joy to have. At the end of December he weighed in at 2 lbs 13 ounces, but I can tell he has filled out since then. We will see what he weighs when he gets vaccinated at the end of this month. This forum really is a wealth of information. I added a few pics to his album so check them out if you want! I was adding more, but it said I was missing a security token??? I would like to make one of his up close pics my profile pic too. Anyway, nice to find you all. |

| Thanx for the warm welcome. I look forward to getting to know some of you and swap stories as they grow or just to get advice. Today I have a trainer coming over for our first session. Wish us luck! I do have a few questions. How do you get your dog to enjoy wearing sweaters? When I put anything on him he pouts behind the chaise lounge for HOURS out of my reach. He was the same way with his collar though he got use to it I eventually took it off because he kept getting his mouth caught in it. Also, he gets sooo excited when anyone comes over. My mom, bf, delivery people but acts indifferent to me. Is this normal? We are together 24/7 because I'm an online student at home. He does follow me around, but isn't really cuddly. It kinda hurts my feelings, lol. |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Welcome to YT! You have such a little cutie there! As for the sweaters...I'll tell you what everyone told me when I first started out...Persistance, persistance, persistance!!! Just keep on putting the sweaters on every day. If they fuss or even pull them off, just put them right back on. After a while, they get used to them and it's second nature I think. When I first started putting dresses on Katie Scarlett, she would kind of nip at them a bit. Now she loves getting dressed and top knotted every day. I think she even looks forward to it. She prances around after I'm done showing off. So just keep at it.

| I will persist with the sweaters! Regarding him getting excited about everyone but me, I know I shouldn't take it personally. In fact, the trainer reminded me I don't want him too crazy and jumping all over me out of control. I'm telling my guests to ignore him until he calms down once they are in the door. I want him to greet people politely eventually and not be barking and trying to dart at/out the door. And he is a mama's boy. Even if he likes to be left alone at times, he does come to me when he wants attention or I call his name. If you want to find him too, look no further than under/beside my chair when he's exhausted. He does cuddle and sleep next to my stomach for a few hrs in the morning at least. He sleeps in a crate for now, but once he goes pee I put him in bed with me and we sleep a few hrs before getting up. |
