SHE DOESN'T have pyo!!! I am SOOOO RELIEVED AND SO HAPPY!!!! Doc got the results back from the labs/ cultures/ blood work and he said her white count is barely up, not even enough to where she'd need antibiotics. He said he thinks she's just having a hard heat because she's getting older, and as they get older, the heats can become hard on them. He said he thinks her uterus is pushed up causing it to seem enflamed because she's having a hard time having a bowel movement, that she's bound up and it's pushing on everything in there. I had switched our big dogs, dog food cause I wanted them on a better food, I had been doing it verrrrry slowly, and Dottie seemed to be doing just fine, it wasn't until she started getting mostly the new food that she got sick. It's high in protein (lots of meats) and doc said some senior dogs just can't handle that. He had me to switch her back to the Purina, he really feels that the switch in food is what has caused the problem. So, I went out today and got her the Purina and have been hand feeding her that. She hasn't eatin as much as she normally does, but I'm sure once she gets all the other stuff out of her system and feeling better, she be back to eating as much as she normally did. He said the rise in temp (small rise) is more than likely due to her being in heat, that is is normal to be a degree higher when they are in heat. She's now been having a problem with incontinence, but only when she's sleeping. I've had her on the couch the past two days with puppy pads, a sheet over them and a towel over the sheets since she's still bleeding from being in heat, that's when I noticed she was leaking urine in her sleep. I told doc about it today and he said it's more than likely because of her being impacted and it's pushing on everything. He wants her on her old food, get her over this hump and see if the incontinence goes away, if not, he wants her back in the office and we'll go from there. So, that's where we are with her and I'm VERYYYY RELIEVED!!! I cried all day yesterday and last night, I was so afraid we were going to lose her. I'm just so thankful she's gonna be ok. Thank you all so much for all your kind words and prayers, God definately heard them and my babies gonna be ok. You all have touched my heart with your prayers for Dottie and my family and myself. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I'm so happy for you and Dottie that you got such great news!! Hopefully now that she is back on her old food she will start feeling much better.

I hope so. She's never ever had a problem with it before.
