| "Burying" things and saving for later Charlie is so cute! There is a particular type of treat which he nearly always tries to bury in his blanket or under a cushion. He will spend ages pulling the blanket up, positioning the treat and then nosing the blanket over the treat. If he is not completely satisfied with his efforts he will take it out and try again elsewhere. I don't know whether he thinks the cat will eat it if he doesn't hide it? Then, when he sees the lead come out for his walk, he goes and gets the treat and takes it with him, carrying it to a particular patch of grass before sitting down and eating it there. I really wish i knew what was going on in his little head lol |

| Gracie has done almost the same thing with a couple of different types of treats I have given her. She never digs them up though. She spent a great deal of time burying them under blankets and things. I even found some in the couch. I figured she didn't like the smell of them because she was so intent on burying them. Most treats I give her she eats right away so I figured the ones she buried were the rejects. She is a picky eater. |

| My chihuahua does something similar. Occasionally when I give her a treat she will "hide" the treats in plain view! LOL Usually it's in a corner of the room, or right next to the back of the sofa, right at the foot of the dining room table or at the back corner of the TV stand. LOL I thought it was odd, but hey. She's like a little squirrel. She "hides" them and then goes back for it later. |

| Mia hides things too sometimes...I think because Brody will, as DH puts it, "snack it" from her. She hid two pieces of a treat DH gave her last Monday morning, carefully covering them in one of the little fleece baby blankets we put on the bed for them to nestle in by pulling with her teeth and pushing with her nose, and fluffing everything up with her paws, digging like mad. Problem was, she only covered them from her side...they were completely visible from the other side. It was hilarious to watch. Funniest is that she never came back for the treats, Brody never "snacked" them away, and I picked them up before bedtime.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | That does sound so adorable! Katie Scarlett digs in the blankets/sheets on the bed when she is nestled up there with me, but I think she is getting it all perfect. I've never seen her hide something. LOL

| Buster hides his treats too. He too will bury it decide it is not safe enough and keep moving it until he is satisfied. I have to avert my eyes because if he is burying it and notices I am looking he grabs it a runs off to find a safer place. He does go back and eat them but on many occasions I have found petrified baby carrots in the couch or in my bed LOL.

| How cute. Belle does that with her food. She hides it under pillows, blankets, etc. Aren't they adorable?

| Well, my little Joey has a favorite stuffed friend. His name is Freddy and he is a purple Teddy bear that he has had since the day I brought him home. He loves little freddy best of all his toys and other stuffed friends. But sometimes he will be carrying Freddie around the dining and living area almost frantically and I can tell he is up to something. I watch him and he goes here with Freddie and then he goes there and he never lets go of him. He does not get up on the furniture as he is too tiny but he will put his two front feet up on a recliner in the living room as if he wants to get up there. So I see this and ask him does he want to put Freddie on the chair and he keeps standing there so I figure his answer is,Yes, Mommy. Thank You. So I lift him up on the chair and he looks around the chair still holding onto his Freddie and then he will put him down. After a bit I ask him is he ready to get down and he lets me put him down and Freddie is left there. And he just forgets all about him and I get Freddie down from the chair later that day. Can't quite understand that and he does not do it all the time but what you are saying about your pups hiding your treats made me think of this thing he does. |

| Sophie Kate will also hide her treats, but she usually will uncover it within 3 days and all of a sudden appear out of no where with a treat. It is kind of embarassing like when I move the couch and there is a collection of treats back there (people probably think I'm a pig). She will also hide her Nyla bone in my bedding, it is not unusual for me to wash the Nyla bone with the bedding.

| I can't even tell you how many treats, pieces of bully sticks, greenies or bones are buried, both hidden and in plain sight, all over my house. I got a new brand of bully sticks and he hasn't chewed them one bit, just hides the whole thing! He spends minutes circling all over the house looking for the perfect spot for that particular treat and will even whine to get into rooms if they doors are shut if he feels he can't find a suitable place elsewhere. He'll dig and dig (sometimes in a blanket, the couch, a pillow, the corner in plain sight with nothing to actually dig up) then spend minutes covering it back up then trots away like he's so proud of himself. The other day he was attempting to bury a treat in the hallway corner and let out this frustrated whiny growl because as much as he pushed the carpet with his nose, it wouldn't cover it up, lol!
