Default Disposable bed pad vs puppy pads

I was wondering if anyone uses the disposable bed pads for puppy pads? I saw a pack of the disposable bed pads at Sams and it's more of them in a pack and they don't cost as much. Just wondering if they are the same.

We use the disposable pads. We have 3 pads set up in the house. I would say we go through a bulk 150 pack every 3 months or so. I thought about switching to washable ones, but haven't made up my mind yet. The disposable one's are all Katie Scarlett knows, well besides grass outside. I may buy 1 washable and see how she takes to it. But for now, we love the disposable pads. We buy a brand at PetSmart in blue packaging. There are 150 in a pack for $49 I think, but we get them on sale for $29 when they go on sale. So not bad.

Also, noticed you were from Town Creek. I know exactly where that is. I was born and raised in Russellville AL. Just came back from Bama. I visited my family there from the 24th of Dec through the 10th of Jan. So hello from fellow Alabamian! Living in PA now due to hubby's job.

Puppy pads are treated with a scent that tells the dog it’s okay to go there. I don't think I would want to use something without that scent, he might learn it's okay to go wherever. You could treat the bed pads with a spray, but that seems kind of inconvenient. Personally, I love the washable pads. We use the disposables when visiting.

Whooops....Just noticed I missed a word in your original post. I did not see 'bed' pads. I just saw pads. I meant we use the puppy pads with the scent on them. Sorry to type all of that above and it not help. I should've read better.

We've always used puppy pads for Mags as well, but someone gave me a washable one and I decided to use it for under our big furkids water dish cause Dottie is a water leaker after having a busted tooth pulled. I took Mags and Jazzie out to the kitchen one morning and the pad was under the big furkids water dish, and Mags walked right over and peed right on it!! Not what I wanted her to do, but at least I know if I ever switched to the washable ones, she'd use them, lol.

Well i use the washable potty pads but i think the disposable ones are great too.
However ,Oscar the little demon thinks they are fun to shred . i guess they
are both good . it just depends on what is more convenient for you..

The pads I sell are medical grade but work just as well as puppy pads if not better.

I never trained my dogs to a treated pads. The key is keeping the pad in the same location and lots of praise when they do their business.

We also buy pads at Sam's; however, instead of the dog pads we buy the adult pads. They are larger, thicker, and the large box lasts us forever. I think the costs is even less based on the number that you get.

We started out with disposable pads and a member turned me on to these, we never looked back. These are recycled hospital bed pads that are cleaned and packaged by handicapped adults for use has pee pee pads for pets. They are only $2.50 each and last forever and wash up clean and fresh everytime. I bought 8 and we have washed them over and over with NO signs of wear. They will not leak or tear and if your pup even gets close, it will wick up every drop. Will save you tons of $$$ over disposables.

This is a great non-profit organization and are a pleasure to deal with.

I use, well attempt to use, both the bed pads and the actual puppy pads with the scent. Zoey is pretty much completely pee pad trained (no accidents for the last two weeks!) and I have tried out both with her. I have noticed that she will not use the regular puppy pads as readily as the bed pads. Not sure why, but she will always choose the bed pad over the puppy pads.

On the plus size for using the bed pads also is the cost difference. The puppy pads cost so much more and they tend to be a lot smaller than the bed pads. I used to buy the wee-wee pads and they were so tiny! The bed pads are about 2-3 times larger than the regular wee wee pads. Now I have 4 cases of the bed pads in the garage (about 10 packs of 12 in each case) and I got those for $50 for 4 cases! Much better deal! :-D

Thank you all for the reply. My Milo is puppy pad trained. I have been using the ones in the pet section at Wal-Mart. I have thought about buying the washable ones but i think i am going to try the bed pads from Sams first. They don't cost as much as the puppy pads and they are bigger. Does anyone have trouble with little feet tracking pee?

Hey, Aymee. I never thought anyone would know where Town Creek is. I really live in Hatton. Thats not far from Russellville. It's a small world. lol

I use washable bed pads. I love, love, love them. I have saved a ton of money using these. I just wash them in a little bleach and detergent. I have been using these for over a year. I like that they are bigger and really absorb. Having 4 babies would mean alot of paper pads. I use 1 per day and its great. I pick up the poop they make and throw it out.
I would recommend them.
On rainy days when they don't like to go out I change it more often.

I always trained my dogs to the outside until Gracie but with having a back injury and the harsh weather I decided to use pee pads for when I could not get her outside. I get a package of 5 for about $12.00 at Walmart. I just like being able to dispose of them. I raised all my kids with disposable diapers so I guess it seems the way to go for me. She went right to the pads from day one so I have been pleased with them and the frame they go in. I used them in two areas when she was a puppy but we are down to one area now.
