YT 2000 Club Member | She Was Doing So Good We brought lil Jazzie into our home a lil after Thanksgiving, she spent the first 6 months or a bit longer in a puppy mill only to be sprung by a lady who wanted to use her for nothing more than breeding :-( When Jazzie wouldn't produce pups, the lady didn't want her anymore and that's how she came into our hearts and home. It took quite a while to get her to eat right, but, she got there and has has went from 3 pounds to 4 pounds 14 ounces I think it was since we've had her. For a while, she'd only eat if I stayed right there with her. She was eating the same times I fed Maggy and was doing wonderful, but within the past 4 days, my hubby (trying to help) has her all messed up. He was off work the past 4 days, and since I haven't been getting much sleep, he'd get up at 3 in the AM and feed the girls at 5 AM. I told him I appreciated him trying to help, but I don't feed the girls until 7 in the AM. He said he knew but Mags was whining and wanted her food, so he fed them cause he didn't want them to wake me up. I went over and over this with him and told him NOT to do that, but, he didn't listen. Now, Jazzie's back to not wanting to eat right again, she'll only eat a lil of her food and then I have to hand feed her more and stay right there with her :-( On a good note though, Jazzie had never played with Mags since she's been here with us, but 2 days ago as I was sitting here at the computer, I heard them behind me on top of the kennels (I have a blanket laid over the kennels with a bed on top) and I turned around to see what they were doing, andddddd, they were PLAYING!!!! I was so happy!! I video taped a lil bit of it. I was starting to wonder if Jazzie would ever play, or if she even knew how, she's 1 1/2 years old. I don't even think she knew what a toy was when she came to us. I just about cried when I seen them playing. Now, off to look for the duct tape so when the weekend gets here, I can tape the hubbies hands together so he can't get the girls off schedual again, lol.

| Aw! How sweet! I had similar problems with my Peek A Boo, he wasn't from a puppy mill, but he had too many homes and if he bonded with anyone during that time, he would be moved and any bonds were broken. It took him 8 months to begin to trust me, and now at 15 years old, he's still not really into toys, but will bite at my hands under the blanket and get all worked up... Sometimes it just takes alot of time and patience, but even the smallest things can be major breakthroughs...and so heartwarming. Best of Luck with your baby...

| Jazzie is a very lucky little girl to be in your loving care now. How wonderful it must be to see her playing with Maggy. Heeheee, get on that duct tape for your hubby!

Also, I'd be interested in whether or not the duct tape holds...

YT 2000 Club Member | Maximo: Thank you so much for your kind words, and yes, it was so wonderful to see them actually playing together. It wasn't ALL OUT playing, but they were playing and it just touched my heart so much. Navillusc: It's so wonderful to see Mags teaching Jazzie things, like a treat, Jazzie had NO CLUE what to do with it, she just carried it around in her mouth and woudn' eat it. After her being here for a few weeks, she took her treat one day and hopped up on the chair and laid beside Mags and ate it, but then again, that may have been so Mags wouldn't eat it, lol, she's a lil Miss Piggy, lol!! They've never snuggled together while awake, if they did, that would for sure make me cry. Jazzie is just the sweetest girl and if she'd open up to Mags and trust her enough to cuddle, oh how my heart would just melt. I have caught them a time or two at night though where Jazzie will be up against my chest and Mags will inevitably stretch out and head head ends up on Jazzies side, but they were sleeping. I want so many good things in life for Jazzie, she so deserves it. ROFL about the duct tape, well somethings gotta work, maybe I should go out and buy some super glue as a back up ;-)
