| Yorkies? Yuck! Have any of you guys run into people, offline, who expressed disgust over the idea of a yorkie? I had a client at work (I'm a beautician) who actually said 'yuck' when I mentioned I was getting a yorkie puppy. She likes big dogs, rats, even tarantulas, but apparently has some issue with small dogs. Now I can understand people not liking a little dog, or a 'pretty' dog with a bow in its hair, but who gets grossed out over a yorkie? And lets you know about it? I wouldn't be all, "Ewww," even if it was a pet cockroach I was told about (but I'd be thinkin' it ). People are just odd sometimes... |

| I used to work with some people who were "big dog people." They would make fun of my little dog and say it was not a dog at all. I didn't pay attention to them at all. While I like big dogs they are not my preference to own but I certatinly would not make fun or make rude remarks about anyone's dog. I'd say the lady who made the remark about your dog has an attitude problem. How rude to make such a remark about anything that belongs to a fellow worker! It's better just to keep opinions like that to ones self. |

| I must confess that I used to be one of those people. The only Yorkie I had ever met was an obnoxious, needy and unfriendly little devil belonging to a former boss. In retrospect, he had assumed the personality of his mistress, who was also highly obnoxious and needy. How we wound up with Smokey is a long story, but it was a love match made in Heaven from Day One. I never realized that so much affection, loyalty, smarts and joy could be packed into one compact and portable little gangster.

| She said that and you didn't mess up her hair? Lol. Just kidding. I probably wouldn't have held my tongue when she said that so I am not the best to take advice from. I mean she likes rats and tarantulas. And thinks a Yorkie is gross. Come on now. I would have said something like, well my Yorkie would kill your rat. Ha ha. See I don't need to give any advice on this thread.

| I think we all love our dogs regardless of size or breed but for someone to say yuck or anything else offending is just rude..Just as I taught my children when eating with others, if something was offered that they didn't like I told them to just say no thank you, no reason to say anything rude or offending..jmho.

| That seems kind of rude of the person and I'm sorry they were that way. But don't worry she is the one missing on the yorkie love not you

| I agree with the other posters... That person was just plain rude. I dont like dogs that drool.. But I would never insult one because they have heart too...and who knows I may fall in love with one some day! I have had Remy called names, like ridiculous ! I just know the people who call her names have not been lucky enough to be loved by a yorkie! Remy sure has won the heart of many who said they don't like small dogs and made fun of me for dressing her!

| I have one Male friend who doesn't like yorkies (but he loves Max), And my mom and my sister... With my friend I think he just puts on a show in front of everyone because he doesn't want to look like a "sissy" lol (I'm trying to convince him that yorkies are 'manly" dogs). But behind closed doors he always gives Max kisses and he's always holding him. lol. As for my mom and sister they have no problem with small dogs, I used to have a little Westie Terrier growing up (they loved her), and I have a bichon (they love her)... As for Max (they don't like him... at all) I'm not sure why (The only reason I can think of is, because he's a yorkie??), but they treated him very badly once (if you read my thread a while ago you know what I'm talking about). Shame that its my own mom and sister, but you can't win them all, so we just keep to ourselves... Because if you don't like yorkies, I'm pretty sure you won't like me!

| My aunt said the most horrible things to my face about my little Tut when I brought him to my grandma's house on Christmas. She was such a jerk I cant even repeat what she said. |

and Bear too! ♥ Donating Member | It really is! He use to act like he didn't care for them and I'd catch him cuddling and talking to them. He finally stoppped "the act", and now they are in our bed every night. Sophie is a "Daddy's Girl" now. It's so cute.
