Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Paris sleeps through the night!!! I don't know if it was the antibiotic shot or moving him into the circle bed at night, but we both finally slept through the night. He only woke up one time, coughed about three times and went right back to sleep!! Absolutly no wheezing at all! I am astounded! He still hacked up a lung when he did wake up but now he is resting after consuming his breakfast. |

| Great News! As long as it can help make him more comfortable is what counts! I tried a couple different positions with Peek a Boo at night, funny... I found him one morning with his head lower than his butt.... he seemed to be very comfy and his breathing sounded better to me. So whatever works....

| Good for Paris! It's great that he slept well. He'll feel better since he slept so good.

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Well I spoke too soon, because last night was one of the worse nights yet. Paris could not stop coughing and wheezing for around 15 minutes! I put him under the covers with me and comforted him until he caught his breath. He still sounds very rattley this morning. I don't know if it could be the piece of foam I put under his bed giving off some kind of fumes, but I took that out this morning. I also had a fire in the fireplace last night. I just don't know. |

| I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine how hard it is to watch your baby suffer and there is not much you can do about it. I am sending really good vibes you and Paris' way, you are such an awesome mommy to him.

We often did a physical therapy thing with heart and lung patients that involved making a cup like shape out of your hand and lightly tapping the lungs in order to loosen the secretions in the lung and other airways. I don't know if your vet knows how to do this so he could show you how to do it. It's basically just tapping lightly on the lungs while the body is inclined slightly with the head down to so the secretions will drain toward the head. Another thought would be to run an ultra sonic humidifier near him as it helps keep secretions flowing and not sticking and clogging up the airway. The humidifier also keeps the dust and other particles down out of the air he is breathing. Any little particle in the air can make it more difficult for him. You need to keep his airways as loose and as clear as possible. These things may be things you already know or have tired. They are comfort measures and I'm sure that is what you want for him. He sounds like a really cool guy and I hope you can make him as comfortable as possible. | |

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Thank you Gracielove Paris has collapsing trachea. His lungs don't fill up with anything, they are clear. I have tried the percussion taps and elevating his head. Thanks for the suggestions. It is hard to see him cough, and I'm doing my best to try and help him have a happy life. Thanks |

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | My son kindly let me use his computer, you'd think I was asking him to cut off his arm, LOL. Paris and I had another terrible night. I hope I can get some rest before I have to go to work tomorrow. I worry about leaving him most of the day but hopefully he will be able to stop a wheezing fit on his own. It just isn't fair. |

I'm sorry Paris and you are having bad nights again. My heart really goes out to you. I know you will always put Paris first and know if he's ok when you go to work. It isn't fair. I know that.

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Paris had another terrible night. At one point I think he stopped breathing. I felt terrible but I had to go to work, he did fine. But he is sleeping since I got home at 2:00. He got up to eat and potty but still is sleeping. He is uninterested in anything. I just don't know what to do if he won't sleep again tonight. The wheezing and coughing is heartrending. |

| It sounds like he's going downhill. His quality of life isn't what it was not that long ago. My heart goes out to you and I will keep Paris in my prayers.

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Another bad night. I called the vet and he said it doesn't sound good. I can now hear some crackling in his lungs. Today when I got home he is all wags and kisses, ate his food, I don't know what to say. He just doesn't know how close he came. Hopefully he will sleep better tonight? |

| I'm sure you do this, but make sure no hair is in his mouth. It only takes a few strands to set Peek a Boo off on a coughing jag. Also, maybe try positioning with his head down, butt up higher by an inch or two... this position makes coughing easier on Peek, maybe it'll work for Paris... keeping you both in my prayers...
