Buying a Yorkie that is not from a puppy mill

Unfortunately you can look at all the sites you want as they all have cute pups but you can't see that limp from LP or that cocked head from Chiari or AAI in a picture.

So, every single pup looks cute to you and you would visit the breeder to learn more about it? That's very doubtful.

I think you would be hard pressed to find many people that would refuse seeing photos of a puppy if they were available. Why would you personally travel to every breeder if you had no idea what they were selling? That just doesn't make good sense.

Not doubtful, Fact. I have a house full of rescued rejects from byb's that were thrown away like trash because they all have medical issues that Can Not be seen from a picture. You need to research your breeder, visit in person, see the pups AND the parents, how they are cared for & housed & that can not be done from a website, period.

It's no secret that many medical issues cannot be seen in pictures. However, there are many things you could see in a picture that would weed out certain puppies.

Well, you first need to find your breeder. That's a problem in itself. If you cannot find them, then you will never have the chance to meet them in person.

Visiting the pups and the parents, and seeing how they are cared for cannot be done online. Agreed. However, you could certainly review a breeder's bio, learn how they raise pups, see how much experience they have, etc. online. You could weed out many breeders just from that information alone.

Really, have you seen a puppy mill site actually say they are puppy mill ? no because most of them put up very good pics & show very clean living conditions & say they are a Christian family but when you go there you can clearly see that is not what their site portrayed.
When you open your car door and the smell of feces & urine are so strong that it makes your eyes burn & takes your breath away. But they sure don't show that in their site.

Nope. They would all be out of business if they did this. And more of them would be out of business if buyers were more informed.

There are lots of places you can find information about reputable breeders, the standards of different breeds, the health issues certain breeds face, etc. The problem doesn't rest in not having the information available (because it is out there) the problem rests in the fact that we live in an instant-gratification society, where most people are "too busy to be bothered" with doing their homework.

Think about it... if people knew what went on in those places, they would never purchase those puppies. Nobody in their right mind would. Yet, many of them are still in business. So, people must be purchasing puppies from them. And if that's true, many people don't know about them.
