| Fun with Mirrors Sunny has discovered mirrors! We took her to Savannah with us for an over night stay. The hotel had a full length mirror next to the bed. We put Sunny up on the bed...she loves being up on our bed at home...so we put her up there, wandered around a bit and spotted her reflection in the mirror. She went nuts...it was the funniest thing....it kept her occupied for hours! I said to DH that is a sure sign of inteligence! He disagreed and said its a sure sign of something! LOL! None of my other dogs cared about their reflection....funny how that is. Anyone elses Yorkie do this? I really do think its a sign of high inteligence. Bobbi

| I bet it was cute! We have long mirrors in our kitchen and Callie's dishes are right next to one and she will put her food in her mouth and then look in the mirror watching herself eat also she likes to look in the mirror just some times and either see us in them or just kinda stare at herself for awhile.

| I watched a TV show not long ago about this. People who study animal behavior, do think self awareness is a sign of higher thinking. Dogs that can look in the mirror and see a paper dot on their back in the reflection, and then look at their own back, recognize that the mirror is a reflection of them. They understand the dog in the mirror is them. This is not always the case. Some dogs never understand. They did the same experiment with monkeys and other animals.. I saw this on PBS, it was so interesting.

| Bailey hops up on the bathroom counter, looks in the mirror, grabs his brush and combs his hair. |

| Hey! I'm in Georgia too!! (I got excited lol).. But yes, I have a full length mirror in my room, and Max falls asleep sometimes in front of it from playing with himself so long. Haha.
