| AWW.. men are nuts... My hubby to calls Brandy a rat... weird huh... He says he bought her by mistake had it not been that she was cute he would have left her at the pet shop... He always complains about her till one night I was so sick and Brandy started to yelp... I got up to see what was wrong and they were playing with the ball... when he heard me coming he put her in the playpen walked away... Then I went to bed and heard him talking to Brandy told her to be quiet mommy sick... I came back out she was cuddled with him on the recliner with a blanky..lol he is such a softy...

| lol these stories are funny. My boyfriend is actually the complete opposite when it comes to small dogs. He grew up with small dogs so when I bugged him about getting a dog, he didn't want anything bigger than like 15lbs. Me on the other hand, I would have been fine with a 20-30lb dog (or my dream dogs - a black lab and golden retriever) but my boyfriend said that was too big lol so we agreed on a yorkie. His parents have one that is really old so he was used to the breed. I've always had a soft spot for yorkies and think they are absolutely adorable so I had no objections. We bicker over who Geno is going to love on that night but Geno has been giving us turns. He'll lay by me in my lap. I sit indian style on the couch with the blanket over me and Geno will lay in the middle. He loves it! Evenutally he will venture over to daddy and lay on his lap for a little bit, but he usually comes back to mommy. Last night, I was finishing up a take-home final and had my laptop on my lap and Geno tried laying on the laptop just to get in his nook so I moved my laptop to the side of me. He is so funny

| you all are so cute. My dh used to call Remy a rat too... rat, squeak and such. But he loves her, now he calls her his daughter (our skin daughters don't like that so much). My dd said I took his "man card" away when I "let" him walk a dog in a pink dress. I would like to see someone "try" to stop him

| Real men love their Yorkies. Guys who are, lets say, insecure? They are the ones with the German Shepards and Pit Bulls. I will walk mine anywhere anytime and dont feel the least bit self conscious about it. I dont like calling myself a "daddy" to the yorksters, though. I never felt comfortable with that analogy. I prefer to think of us as a pack. But I would never refer to them as "Rats" either! And as far as cuddling, I admit to petting and hugging my adorable yorkie pack on a regular basis; its good for my health and well being and they are just so darn cute My female loves the attention, but the male is usually much happier playing non-stop fetch, which we do now for at least an hour every day. That is not to say that he doesn't appreciate a good tummy rub or scratch behind the ears now and again (as long as it doesn't get in the way of fetch) |

| Well, we have 3 pet rats as well as the dogs. He loves our rats and talks kinda cutesy to them. He loves all the animals really, hes a big softy for any pets I think. Which is a good thing cause if he didn't like animals we certainly wouldn't be together!

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Tee hee! These cute yorkies wrap Daddy around their fingers very quick! Brandon was always saying that he would like our girl before we got her, but she would be 'my' dog. Well I said no, she is 'our' dog. Well the minute we got her, he turned to mush. He acts like such a sap around her. He baby talks at her and loves on her. It's so funny to see him out walking her with her pink leash, harness, and sweater on and he doesn't care. He loves her to pieces. But lately, when she is getting into trouble he will say...'when she is being a bad girl, she is your dog.' LOL!

| Cute thread. Glad to see I (dh) am not alone in going absolutely bonkers over our Yorkies. Nothing like sitting in the recliner, foot rest up and three of the "Z"s snuggled w/me. Ditto when I sneak a nap on the couch and all three cuddle w/me.

| mine never wanted a dog. then we got Miss Sadie and nearly three years later he's so in love with her and her brother Bentley. they sleep closer to him than me and snuggle with him not me...i got two dogs so we'd each have a baby and Bentley usually spends more time snuggling with me but Sadie is all daddy's girl. they LOVE him and he's completely head over heels for them...who says a not so crazy about dog person can't get wrapped around a yorkie?? my parents swore they'd never allow one dog in their house, now they have two grandogs and they adore them, dad wants to play with them all the time and tries to tease and love on them. mom let Sadie sleep with her when Sadie found her way into our basement guest room and cuddled up with her. they all love our babies to pieces now |
