| cutting puppies nails I just bought a 6 1/2 week old yorkie and her nails are very sharp. when do they start cutting the nails |

| if her nails are black. I suggest slightly grinding them with a peti-paws or dremel. That way you won't quick her, but I think about anytime those nails are sharp and long it's time for a clip. Teddy has both clear and black nails but I just use my peti-paws to grind down the points and the clear nails give me a good gauge as to where the quick is. If you are unsure, talk to your groomer

| 6 1/2 weeks? that is SO young! But to answer your question, at that age do it while they're sleeping. Use a cat nail clipper. |
