				   | They are great for dogs. Low cal and helps clean teeth too. They won't digest them all the way though hehe, you'll see some in their poop but it's all good!

				   | Well, dogs can't digest raw veggies too well. Best to cook them but there is definitely nothing wrong with them eating 'em raw.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm not too keen on raw carrots, they don't break down like other foods and can cause a choking problem. I had a friend that choked on one and had to be rushed to ER so they could retrieve it from her lung. Does your dog chew throughly before he swallows? I think microwaving them for a little bit would make them safer.

				   | Bailee loves carrots. I steam them first so they are soft. I keep some in the fridge and use them for a snack for Bailee. ![]()

				   | Sophie can smell a carrot in the kitchen from anywhere in the house . I only feed her very tiny bits one at a time and she loves them. She chews on them well before she swallows.

				   | Both of mine get steamed carrots and green beans (no salt) added to their food. Sadie in particular has a metabolism like mine and gains weight easily. I cleared it with my vet but it gives her some low calorie bulk and helps her feel fuller. They both love them.Added - in fact I use green beans for training treats with her. She'll do anything for green beans!

Every day, mixed with Harry's dinner, he gets green beans, carrots, peas and a little sweetcorn (plus any other veggies I have, apart from the baddies of course!!) cooked, no added anything - and he's very well!!! Sally + Harry x | |

				   | Carrots are fine Of course I have to cook them for my Luna, she tends to swallow things whole Izzy won't eat them either way

				   | Yes! Mine eat baby carrots raw daily. (part of the vegi's in their RAW diet.) Apparently carrots are a traditional treat given to working Yorkies in England for years and years. I learned this when posting about my Elvis' affinity for baby carrots, Elvis was very leery when first coming to live with me until I was getting the kid's snack ready he saw and sniffed at a carrot and took it from my hand-first treat he ever took from me despite my buying multiple varieties-even custom made ridiculously priced ones.
