I got Gucci on Sept 04. I paid $900 but he refunded $200 to cover some of Gucci's vet bills. Gucci was sick with ringworm when I got her. Of course I didn't know then. A week after she was home I noticed a bitty small bald spot. I took her to the vet and it turned out to be ringowrm. We have being going to the vet at least twice a month since we got Gucci but her hair is finally growing back. I got a called from the Vet yesterday that she still need to be kept on the treatment because the tissue culture was positive. The breeder refunded the money because I found out of another person that bought a pup from him that was sick like Gucci and he told me that the other pup that was left after i got Gucci also got sick. |
After reading YT for a few days i am afraid to say what I paid and where I got Hailey. I paid $1900 and bought her at Petland, a local pet store. My sister and I went there to buy stuff for her dog and I instantly fell in love with Hailey. My husband went back and bought her for me a week later. I know that was to much money but she has been worth every penny. She is almost seven months and weighs 5 pounds. |
$1900 is alot but that is nothing compare to the prices I see online.. some even ask for $5000, as if these dogs can cook you dinner or something...dang.... they must be banking to pony up $5000 |
I paid 800.00 for Mia about 18 months ago. This was in the Dallas Texas area and that was the going rate for male or female from YTCA/Bluebonnet Chapter members. I think that pet shops around here charge way more than that. |
I got Cordelia 02/26/05 in Krum, Texas. I paid $700 for her. I was will to pay $1000.00 for a yorkie female. I'm so happy I found her; she is the sweetest most precious thing that has come into my life. |
I just bought my first little baby today we will get to pick her up next week from the airport. She will only be around 3lbs when she done growing. We paid $3,000 and she comes from champion bloodlines. I cant wait to get her. |
i paid $800 for brownie and $700 for kayko |
Stewie was $475. I bought him in Chicago. He's a little doll. The prices here arent' bad at all compared to what I've seen in rural Ohio and Indiana's breeders. |
The joy and happiness that my Angel & Glory adds to our family far surpasses the price.  :lovewings |
Coco was $650.00, but we never got her papers i have been trying to get them for 8 months now! |

My first yorkie I got 8 years ago from Bluebonnet YTC rescue in Dallas.Rocky was 6 years old. It was love at first sight. He ws a bigger yorkie, about 10 pounds, and followed me every. I've always had dogs in my life, even raising and showing Norwegian Elkhounds, but I totally fell in love with yorkies. I didn't know alot of about them, and when Rocky was 12, I took him to have his teeth cleaned and unfortunately, he died on the table. Looking back, I think they had him too deeply asleep and his heart just stopped. It almost killed me... and on my wedding anniversay to boot. About 2 months later, I contacted the rescue again and adopted another yorkie.... but he wound up being a silkie terrier, 12 years old with MANY, MANY help problems, including diabetes, blind, etc. I had him a little over a year and had to put him down. I loved that little guy too. He was just the sweetest old man. The young girl at the vet's office has a yorkie and she knew how much I loved mine and wanted another. So she told me about a friend of her aunt's who had a litter and did I want one. I immediately said YES!! I knew I'd have to work on DH, because we already had 2 dogs and didn't want more at this time. Well, anyway, I got Trevor for $200 and I think he is just the most wonderful thing in the world. Even though he didn't cost alot, he is a standard size, with beautiful coloring, etc. For those of you who are looking for a yorkie, talk to your vet's office and see if they know of any yorkie clients that are having a litter. You never know what you might fine out. Trevor may not have a long pedigree, although his dad did have papers, he's perfect for me. Cyndie and Trevor |
I got Spirit at an animal rescue shelter Summer of 2004. She is very healthy and a pure Yorkie. She is now 15 months old and weighs 7lbs. Her name is perfect for her since she is full of Spirit and is the Cheerleading Mascot for the BHS JV Cheerleaders. Go Clippers! |
For my first one I paid 250.00 from a little old lady who could not keep up with a puppy LOL he was 12 weeks when I got him about 5 years ago he also was registered he developed cancer and ided last summer. I bought peyton in august and paid 400.00 and bought tinkerbell 3 weeks ago for 550.00. I am in tennessee |
I bet none of you did this... I paid $400 for a $300 Yorkie! :good job: Here's the story...I researched different breeds for 2 months because we wanted to surprise our kids with a Christmas puppy. I settled on a Shih Tzu cause my husband refused to pay what a Yorkie cost. One Saturday I went to a breeder's house and picked out a Shih Tzu puppy. It cost $400 and I made a $100 deposit. I'm sure you can guess the rest. Ten minutes after I left the breeder's house, I settled in at Starbucks for a cappucino. As I browsed the want ads, there it was! My chance at a Yorkie. I couldn't help but call, asked why they were selling them so cheap. Bo was the product of an accidental breeding (lucky for me!!) of two friends' Yorkies and they weren't offering papers. I got to see both parents and they were SO pretty. There were 3 in the litter and Bo and his sister were left. Of course I fell in love, rationalized the heck out of my decision, and brought him home that day. The rest is history. My husband said, "Tell that breeder I know where he lives!" (year right tough guy, LOL) and I told him the receipt for the deposit said 'No refunds'. It didn't matter. I could tell Bo was pure bred with or without papers and he is my 'Mommy's Boy'!! |
