| It's a good food. As long as she is doing well on it, there is no reason to switch.

| When did you switch here? Here stool may just be a little looser because she is not used to it. It should start getting back to normal once her tummy is used to the new food. I'd say give it few days. this is what is happening with Lucky now too! He was on a mix of his old food with the new food. But since he is not just on the new food, he poop is a little softer. I think it is just his tummy taking time to get used to it!

| RC is not my favorite, but it seems to work for quite a bit of dogs, so I wouldn't change if it's working well. I think it's a good quality food, but the price steers me away. Because, IMO, I feel like you can find a lot of better kibbles for a MUCH better price. I can get Fromm "Four-Star Nutritionals" for $11.99 for a 5lb bag -- all the RC bags tend to be, like, 2.2lbs for $17-$20. I don't quite understand why the price is so high, but I guess getting a larger bag can save you some $$$. Either way, it's a decent brand, and a lot of Yorkies tend to do well on it. Only issue I've ever seen is dogs having major itches on it.

| I had my old Yorkie on RC and he would NOT stop the itching! I did not know that itches were a common thing with that food. Good to know! He had very sensitive skin and could only eat one brand after I finally figured out what worked. He was on Natural Balance LID. And now Lucky is on the same. Anyways, if he is doing well and doesn't have itches or an upset tummy, then I would stay on it!

| RC is full of corn, which a lot of dogs don't tolerate well. If the stool continues to be loose, I'd investigate some other premium foods for your baby. Loose stool leads to anal gland issues, which are painful for the pup.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Katie Scarlett is on RC too. It is what the breeder had her on when we brought her home so we just continued on it. I have noticed her scratching some, but not very much at all. I wonder if it is the food or just the occasional dog itch? I may talk to my vet about it today at our appointment. She seems to enjoy her food. We have no problem with her eating and her poopies are fine.

| Some dogs can tolerate and love RC. I've discovered that it isn't for Harley. If the loose stool continues, there are two things that could cause this (or an underlying medical condition in which case you need to consult a vet): 1- the corn. Some dogs cannot tolerate corn, or any grains at all. 2- the chicken and multiple meat products. * *I only say this cause this is the reason Harley can't have it. my boy was on a food with multiple protiens in it for 2 years and all of a sudden started having problems. we eventually determined that it was a chicken and beef allergy. It used to be rare but more and more dogs have started developing allergies. I tried the medical by RC which has hydrolized chicken in it and it made him worse. So while once I used to say that RC was not a good brand. I've learned that it's just not the right brand for my boy because of the ingredients. All that stuff being said. If it's not broken don't fix it. If problems continue then check out the health and diet thread, they have lots of great premium brands that they recommend on there.
