choosing a yorkie from the litter, 24 days old too young to tell?

thanks yorkiedaze, I would have never thought about the breathing problems,and yes katk810, i have a feeling i'll be in the poor house frome spoiling my yorkie haha, and lovetodream88,I never know that,I thought the weight made them silky's, and thier coat was shorter too, so i just assumed they were silkys not yorkies

Just the weight does not make it a silky. There are many full yorkies on this board who are well over the standard 7 pounds.

It does mean that they are not conforming to standard and therefore should not be bred.

thanks miabellaamoure, i looked into adopting one for a while but the only young ones are way too far away and would have had to be flown in, and i didnt feel comfortable paying that way i rather pay in person and take the puppy home in the car, i looked into other breeders, and this one was recommened to me by a good friend..I worked in a pet store before, where we didnt sell puppys because we didnt support pet stores who buy from puppy mills, so we didnt sell dogs at all, but i heard alot of horror stories working there from people who bought from pet stores or didnt do thier research into breeders, ALOT of horror stories, so I'm not just aimlessly buying a puppy this has been a long decision, but thanks for the advice living in the middle of nowhere dosen't help lol, but i am confidant in this breeder, i just want to not be left with last choice of littre

That's true but it doesn't make them a different breed. Maybe some people are breeding them to get the size they started out as or just arnt a good breeder who knows what goes through peoples minds these days.

Silkies are supposed to be bigger then a yorkie but there are other differences as well. A bigger yorkie is not a silky just because its bigger it is simply just a bigger yorkie.
