We went through this with Noah at 8 weeks... And 1 pound. If he can survive it, Mac can! Noah never vomited until after he was at the vet 4 days, and never had diarrhea-still has never had diarrhea and he's 7 months old now. I took him in for routine shots and he had a reaction. Parvo was one of the tests they ran, and it came back positive. Not to scare you but he was at the vet 12 days and total cost was around $7500.00 Vaccines fail-that's why they make boosters and do titer tests. While the chances of a vaccinated dog getting the virus are slim, it's still possible. You can research this and find proof all over the internet. Heck children with vaccines still get sick with things they've been vaccinated against. I would still have your other 2 dog tested. If they've been exposed, they could have it, especially your girl pup if she hasn't had a full set of vaccines.

| I am so curious, prob cause i work at a veterinary clinic. Why did it look like a blockage in xrays? The barium should have still went through normally if it was parvo. IT doesnt go together.... |

| Also, make people take their shoes off at the door-it can be brought in on shoes. Make them wash their hands before handling bevo or bryleigh and especially after picking up any waste products. Your yard will need to be bleached as well, the dogs have gone to the bathroom there and since the virus lives in the feces, they can pick it up from feces on the ground as well as soil. Talk to your vet about probiotics if/when they're giving antibiotics. Also see what his white blood cell count is. The higher the better for fighting off infections. If it gets too low, you might want to consider a transfusion. Dogs rarely die from the parvovirus itself, they die from the sepsis of the virus eating through their intestines and spilling waste into their body. The antibiotics will help fight this. If they don't have him on one, he needs it now...before it's worse. IV fluids are a must, as well as glucose, so his sugar doesn't drop. If he spikes a fever, his IV needs to be run through cold water to help lower it. Fever means infection and infection is bad!! When it came time for Noah to start back on food, we got plain chicken baby food. Beechnut brand and spoon fed him. He wouldn't eat what they left in his bowl. I put him in a towel and put him in my shirt and talked to him and held him and did "skin to skin" contact. It does wonders for NICU babies. See if your vet will allow it. I can't say it works 100%, but it can't hurt. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I'll give you my number and can talk. Denise can vouch for me that I'm not a crazy lunatic lol.

| Parvo can cause the intestines to funnel and fold back on themselves from the inside out. Had they done a parvo test first, they would have figured it was this and not a blockage. Since he's had a full set of vaccines, parvo wasn't looked at and the xray showed what probably looked like a blockage

| The barium stopped at his tummy.... Never went to his small intestines after 4 1/2 hours, so that's why he thought he had a blockage. Bryleigh has had 4 sets of shots and her rabies. She is 4 1/2 months old. Both her and Bevo are acting/playing great. I'm about bleaches out!! I have washes all beds, blankets, toys, food and water dishes, floors, baseboards, etc.... Been bleaching everything for the past 3 hours.!!! At least it keeps my mind busy.... Someone mentioned my yard needing bleached.... My crew doesnt go outside. They do have a 10x10 gazebo type "yorkie yard" with playground mulch that is temporarily closed. We are going to shovel out all the mulch and replace it tomorrow. I'm guessing he picked it up at the vet last Friday when he went for his neuter..... I just don't know

Good news is, once he's had it, he is immune and won't get it again. Possible he picked it up at the vet. That stuff is hard to kill, easy to spread and resilient as all get out. Good luck!
