Just remember what goes in must come out (not much at all has gone in) and when we fast we actually gain so much more the first week of eating again our body absorbs and retains as much as possible.

Try gentle from chest to (his boy part) strokes gentle pushing his belly...just like a mom dog would lick to stimulate 'digestion' you can (definately ask vet!) give him a little apple juice too, or even some karo syrup...did they prescribe him stool softeners considering his surgery? One would they they should have...I'd call and request one if they didn't.

He is actually on anti nausea/diarrhea medication. My vet said it is normal for him, but it should be coming soon! I cant really rub his tummy at this point because of his incision and sutures. He wont have them removed until next friday....

Just checking back to see if we have poo yet. Who would belive a Fl. lady is worried, about a Texas doggie going poo !

Oh!

I didn't realize he was still being treated for the nausea and diarrhea I guess I assumed the med.s for that had perhaps been so effective he might not be able to go!

Poor guy, so we're all crossing our fingers & paws here it's a solid pooh soon!

Maybe someday, this Texas lady will worry about a Florida baby going poo!!!

P.s. Still no poo....But, you know what? Thats the LEAST of my worries!! Mack Brown is happy, home, and almost healthy!! .....But a poo sure would be nice!! Lol

It look like fluid build up to me. I hope your Vet answers you soon about it.

Oh wow. I don't know. Medical things for me are only a matter of deduction and guessing. I hope someone who knows about medical things will answer quickly. Great idea to send picture via phone to the Vet ! Prayer for Mack and family.

I dont know what the bump is, but man does Mack look 100% better! His lil eyes have the sparkle back in them. Could it be a hernia?

Hes thinking fluid.....although it travels when u push it....He said "maybe hernia??", but at the same time hes halfway laughing at me for being too protective!! lol

Im still not sure what it is....I may take an hours drive to find out....My kids are at church so I have to wait for them to get out before I make any decisions....he is acting fine, but Im so parranoid!!

Kendra: So glad Mack is home. As for the swelling, Cailee was spayed a few weeks ago. About day 3, she developed swelling and black/blue bruising around her incision(assumed it was from TOO much activity with her big brother). I immediately took her to the Vet, examined her and said she was Ok and if it I could touch the swelling/black/blue site without any noticable pain, she was probably OK. In other words, she said that infection would be painful and she wouldn't want me to touch her. Not sure if this applies to the bump on Mack but thought I would share to see if any similarities. Obviously, word from your Vet would be much better. Best of Luck. We are all praying for you and little Mack!
