Kendra,thank you for letting us know that Mack had a good night. I hope that you are taking care of the "care giver" as well. We are keeping you in our prayers.

So glad to hear that Mack is back at home. I realize he still has lots of healing to do, he's been through so much, but he will gain strength being around his family. It's wonderful to see prayers answered. I'm so happy for you.

Happy to hear that you all had a good night....I'm sure it was wonderful to wake up to him next to you. I am praying for a full recovery for him.

Kendra now when I log on to yt my first thought is of Mack. So glad he's eating. Did he like the broth? That

I was going to go to bed, but before I turned off my computer, I had to come here and check on little Mack. So glad to hear he had a good night. There really is no place like home to help recuperate and heal. Like the others have said, take care of yourself too. Hope Mack enjoys the chicken broth. Continuing to say prayers for Mack and you and your family!

So glad that Mack is continueing to recover! Of course he's still not out of the woods but I have no doubt that he will be back to himself in no time! I'm not a big prayer, but have been praying for little Mack daily! I feel such a bond when i read about him, he truely is a miracle baby! You must feel blessed to have such a special boy <3 God bless you BOTH!

Mack had an ok day... He is still eating in very Small amounts, but at least he is eating!! I made the broth and it was a hit!!! He has vomited once today, but it was just a small amount. He hasn't pooped since yesterday morning and that concerns me so I am going to call the vet in the morning to see if he is concerned. He is in good spirits though!!! I think the iv port is bothering him, so I may see about having it taken out too... It is comforting to know if he does "bomb" out, he is ready to be hooked up, so I don't know!! Till tomorrow!!! Oh, Mack says thank you to all of his wonderful YT family!

Kendra,

I know it is completely different situation but when Sophie Kate came home form her hospital stay with pancreatits she did not poop for two days. The vet told me not to be concerned until day three because she had eaten so little.

Good luck and I am happy Little Mack is home with you.

He will continue to be in my prayers.

That does make me feel better!! I'm sure I am just being overly cautious, but I just want him to be back to normal!! I am going to shred a little bit of the chicken I used to make the broth and mix it with his rx food tomorrow to see if that will interest him more.... If not, he likes the broth!! :)

Different yet still - but when Chip had those severe vaccine reactions when he was a pup and we almost lost him 3 times, he had pooped and thrown up so much while sick, it took his body a few days to regain a normal regulated system again after he started recovering.

I haven't posted yet, but I've been following this thread as well as your other threads about your "blue born" Mr. Mack. I hope Mack continues to heal and recover. I know it's killing you to see him like this.

Nothing like being on poop patrol! I was in the backyard at 1am with one of our dogs and a flashlight.

Lmbo! Poop patrol, went through that last night and into this morning!

So happy Mr. Mack loved the broth. It's hard to resist chicekn broth regardless of the species!

Lol...So glad we can all laugh now after such a ughhh week!!:D

He is getting his IV port out today as well....He definately has alot more energy today...he is thinking about playing with Bevo and Bryeigh...hasnt yet, but you can tell he wants to!! I would say he is about 80% back to his old self!! I cant believe how fast he is suddenly improving!!

I will never be able to Thank You all enough for being there with us throughout this ordeal.....I can see the light!!! ITS REALLY CLOSE!!!...Now just waiting on that poo!!! :p

it really is dreadful when you are anxiously awaiting a poo to have to pick up!
sooo glad he's almost back to his old self, oh i'd love to meet that little mack brown and squish his wee face out of love!!!:D

When Ziggy was hospitalized with the vomiting and bloody diarrhea in September, it took him a fews days as well. I think because he really hadn't gotten much in his tummy for a while.

I'm still on "poop patrol" here! So worried that he'll start the bleeding again.

I'm soooooooo glad little Mack's getting better!

Reading this for the first time. . . what an ordeal you and your little guy have gone through ! I am so happy to see that he is doing well and is on his way to making a turn around. I Hope for the best out come and a full recovery.

This may quite possible be the only time in my life I'm anxiously awaiting hearing about the bowl movements of a friend's dog...

Just remember what goes in must come out (not much at all has gone in) and when we fast we actually gain so much more the first week of eating again our body absorbs and retains as much as possible.

Try gentle from chest to (his boy part) strokes gentle pushing his belly...just like a mom dog would lick to stimulate 'digestion' you can (definately ask vet!) give him a little apple juice too, or even some karo syrup...did they prescribe him stool softeners considering his surgery? One would they they should have...I'd call and request one if they didn't.
