| Question, Thought, Suggestions, Explanation-? Now now I don't want to start the convo. on breeder web sites or open a can of worms that that topic may lead to. Breeders have web sites (some only pages) it's just a fact. Weather they are/be reputable or not both kinds in this day and age do. In fact some retired show/exhibitors only (obviously they bred but didn't necessarily have pups for individuals) have their own web sites to educate. I have yet to ever see ANY breeder link or reference Yorkietalk.com under their link, references, favorite things etc. I've heard many say they refer buyer's here etc etc. I'm not trying to point at any breeders here: but what is up with that? Why not list you YT: name and link to here>? If there is a reason someone wouldn't let me know I'm curious. (Is it maybe Yorkie Talk is personal and maybe I can see not giving out your user name, but why not refer people here-especially if they are getting your dogs or use your own site to refer people here? Is it overlooked? Forgotten? Is there are reason? If someone does can someone show me? This is NOT meant and should NOT be used to promote any individual breeder! Even if someone links Yorkie Talk that doesn't mean they are reputable in any way shape of form: in fact one only need go to the Yorkie's for sale section here and see that association with Yorkie Talk or selling (or rehoming) directly on Yorkie Talk means nothing about someone's character.

| I wouldn't hesitate if I were breeding and selling litters to suggest YT site. But I would not give my user name. This is where I come to be loved, supported, ask advice, whine and vent. I prefer to use a fictional name, to keep my privacy. Although my home town is fairly small and I have picture albums and my dogs names on line, so it wouldn't be really hard to figure out. LOL

| I am not breeding - won't until Lollie is finished and I find her a mate that is worthy of her . However, anytime I encounter people who asks questions about Yorkies, I give YT a plug. I even have a little label on the back of my foxypups business cards that invites people to join YT - and so that individuals won't feel "lost" I give them my screen name. |

| Interesting thoughts-I think privacy has a lot to do with it for many. I don't like my name used but I'm totally open on here so I have the prerogative if you know me you'll know it's me, if you are an internet stranger I don't want you to be able to find me. So I kind of get it. Chattiesmom-I see now and awesome! You are #1!! <<you

| Well I can't speak for YT, but I know that a customer of my breeder created a Facebook group with her name in it for us fans of her dogs, and eventually people from other breeders started joining the site, and it became a huge controversy and the breeder requested/demanded that her name not be associated with the group, simply because there were owners asking questions/complaining about health problems on the page/group and they weren't from her dogs, so she just didn't want to be associated with it (I don't blame her). The group has since evolved to a general small breed group which we can all be members of, and there is still a lot of arguing and bickering, we recently had to kick a member off who thought she was a know it all, and was making rude false accusations. So that being said I don't blame breeders for not directly giving their information. Online information can be misleading at times, so keeping your reputation solid and avoiding misleading things is very important when running a business.

| Sounds like drama... I don't understand though why the secrecy-if you breed, you have a site, you use Yorkie Talk so obviously you understand it's value. If you send clients here...I'm just saying, so when people "Google" and find your site why wouldn't you promoting Yorkie Talk under your favorite links, things, etc etc. I mean many people list their favorite dog food, favorite toys, etc why not favorite information, education, sharing source etc? I think it's one thing to display your user name on your site or maybe even to give it out but why aren't I seeing it linked at all? Again I'm not pointing at anyone here specifically but I notice some people promote their site/page/breeding/self/sales here, so why not vise versa? As it was noted just by people's pics and their posts here it really isn't hard to figure out who most people are. I'm not a breeder but people can totally find me from here if they have access to my information in other places. IDK Maybe I am being difficult I just don't really understand it other than username privacy, or my not seeing the link's on people;s pages/sites etc. Quote:
