				 | Yorkies with White - Are they mixed? Hello everyone. Before I decided to contact my old breeder, I was searching online for a yorkie puppy. I saw some that were black with white, they were the cutest thing! But it also made me wonder, are they purebred?? Their information would say that they are pure, but it seems as if they could be mix.

				 | Hello. I'm not totally up on all colors Yorkie. I thought though, they were generally black, red, gray in color. I'm sure that someone will come along shortly with the correct information. |

				 | Oh okay! That makes sense then. I just looked that up. It is a mixed breed then. I wonder why someone would pass them off as a purebred yorkie. Thanks everyone!

In some places biewers are considered as it's own breed, so in some places they are purebred. But you have to remember most purebred dogs came about by mixing breeds in the first place... the yorkie is one of them. And then you have the parti colored yorkie (which is a purebred yorkie)... maybe they were just trying to pass him as a parti yorkie but he looks a little bigger than a yorkie so thats why i assumed he was a biewer.

				 | Now I'm confused. I thought a biewer was a full-blooded yorkie. No? |

				 | It really depends on who you are talking to. One Biewer club in the US says that they are a mixture. The other Biewer clubs and the German Kennel club where they came from says they are a purebred Yorkie - just with added color. Parti Yorkies are a purebred tri-colored Yorkie that is recognized and can be registered with AKC. The Yorkie parent club (YTCA) does not recognize them and have made sure they can not be shown in AKC dog shows by making them a disqualifying color but AKC will recognize them as purebred (like white Boxers or white German Shepards). There are several Parti Yorkie breeders on Yorkie Talk who can give you more information or you can do a search for the term Parti Yorkie to read previous discussions on this topic (they have gotten "heated" in the past). | Correction: it visuall appears to be a purebred Tri-colored Yorkie... It's a Tri-colored Yorkie. Either a Parti Yorkie or a Biewer a la pom pon, obviously not a standard/traditional colored Yorkies. Definitely not a Golden (which happens) or a Blue for that matter (which is mostly sad read the blue born thread). They are one in the same...Yorkies

And in SOME (not all) places the biewer IS recognized as a "rare" breed and is a different breed from the yorkie. But if you (the person who started this thread) wants to know more... i suggest you look up some old threads about partis and beiwers in this forum... or there's always good old google
