Senior Yorkie Talker | I would like to get your all's thoughts on this... A little history for you... My first major baby was a Miniature Schnauzer... His name was Eddie... I had him for 11 years before he developed k9 diabetes and several other problems. I ended up having to have him put down. It was the hardest dang thing I ever had to do... Well 2 years after I started looking into getting a Yorkie... I always LOVED the breed and I was REALLY missing having a fur baby. That was when I was told about a Shih-Tzu that was for sale I thought I don't want that breed, but I went to look at him anyway... I was REALLY wanting a girl dog but every female in that litter was already chosen. Well the second I saw him I instantly fell in love with him!! He is now 4 years old and he is still my baby, heck both my boys are my babies... In 2008 I adopted Nicky!! I have had him since he was 5 weeks old so he is VERY close and just as much attached to me as I am to him. Now to my point... For the last couple of months I have REALLY been wanting that girl fur baby and have been giving it serious thought as to getting a female Yorkie... Am I crazy for wanting another dog? Everyone is telling me that I am nuts to be wanting to get ANOTHER dog!! I KNOW I have enough Love in my heart and the ability to take care of a third dog!! UGH just don't know what to do... What do you all think?!? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | If you have the means to provide for a third then why not. I have 4 and the 4th was an elderly male I inherited. Some days 4 seems a little overwhelming but I know I have enough love and can financially are for them. Good luck in your decision.

| My first schnauzer was a male. Max. He passed away also from diabetes. We also had Mandy and she passed a year later from cancer. They were both 13. Then we just had Tina left. Schnauzers have always had a place in my heart. My husband wanted a yorkie so we bought Kayla. Then I wanted another girl and ended up with a boy and love him to death. Then, we got Lexi when Mandy passed and we now have 2 schnauzer, 2 yorkies. They are alot of work but wouldn't trade them for the world. I have 3 babies and an ole' lady. Kayla is 4, Lexi is 3, Dudley is 2 and Tina is 14. You will do fine with 3. More work, but more to love. |

| To me, deciding to get a dog, or another dog, is like deciding to have another child. It's another commitment to raising a living being well into the teen years. If after thinking about it, go for it. It's your family and no one else should tell you who should or shouldn't be a part of your family

Senior Yorkie Talker | You all are so awesome... I just love to come here for advise, because I know you all have everyone's best wishes in mind, weather it is the human parents or the fur babies, and that is just one of the many many reasons why I love this place so very much. Ya'll are wonderful!! Yea I still have a lot to think about and ponder over!! I love my boys dearly and I know I would love the baby girl just as much but I have to look at it from the financial area too... Maybe next year at this time might be better!! I could start looking into places to adopted a little girl who is in need of a home!! It just breaks my heart to see all the homeless fur babies, Wish people would not take in animals if they never really wanted them in the first place! UGH |

| If you can afford a little girl you should go ahead and find your baby. I have 2 females and 2 males,Yorkies, they are all spayed and neutered and I have enough time and love for all of them. Good Luck in your decision.

| If you can afford the expenses of three dogs and can supply everything she needs then GO FOR IT. I have 4 fir babies and just got my first foster and I would take as many more as I could afford.
