| We are fortunate to live in a gated community of zero lot line homes. The homes are relatively close to one another with not much of a backyard. I generally walk Bailey about 10pm each night around the block. While having the gate is certainly a false sense of security, it is a great benefit and we feel safe enough to walk. |

| after dark all the time, but we don't go as far as during daylight hours. I stay in my large yard after dark. I live in a pecan orchard with woods all around and there are coyotes, so I wear a head light that puts light anywhere I turn my head. I do get spooked sometimes by the occasional possum, armadillo, and stray cat, but most times it's deer that startle me. When they get a whiff of us they snort at us which makes me jump no matter how I expect to hear it,LOL. I also have hubby watch us through a window just in case. Even though we have security lights, the head lamp is a wonderful thing to have if you have to take night breaks with your babies like I do. |

| Heck no..... I'm afraid to walk them during the day after Bitsy was attacked by a loose Husky. I do like the idea of pepper spray and I'm going to buy one tomorrow.

| I'd rather take Princess out at wee hours of the morning instead of between dark & 2 a.m. or so, people leaving bars, etc. She's pad trained so if we go out it's just for fun but we stay close. It's pretty quiet here but that's not a guarantee. I always have my phone at the ready just in case & feel safe that she'll smell/hear/see trouble in time to warn me. One morning I was leaving for work at 4:30 & glanced out the window as I opened the door to see a man walking. Scared the crap out of me , then I saw it was my neighbor who was "having a late night". I will admit that any time I can take Princess with me after dark I do-every single time I can! I feel safer with all 9 lbs. of her with me.![]()
