| ![]() Macy has been one of the many that struggled with eye boogies and wet fur under and around her eyes since I got her. Like everyone else I tried to find a solution that suited her. I read a post on here that someone used Nursery water for their fur baby and decided to try it. Wow, within 4 days her eyes are 100% better. In fact this morning no wet eyes to clean. I have been using filtered tap water and bottled water with no success. Her water is the only thing I have changed so I hope this is her answer to her watery eyes.

| ![]() The one I use for Macy is just called Nursery purified water. Walmart has it for $1.00 in a gallon jug. It's distilled water you use to mix with baby formula.

| ![]() That's what I thought too....it is only $1.00 for the gallon so I thought I would give it a try. This is the fourth day she has been on it and this morning I noticed no eye boogies or wet fur for the first time. I know every dog is different but I hope this is the answer for us.

| ![]() You are not supposed to give pups distilled water. There are no minerals in distilled water and it makes them pee out the ones that are already in their bodies. Pups have actually died because their owners were giving distilled water. Here's some info: The possible health consequences of low mineral content water consumption are discussed in the following categories: • Direct effects on the intestinal mucous membrane, metabolism and mineral homeostasis or other body functions. • Practically zero calcium and magnesium intake. • Low intake of other essential elements and microelements. • Loss of calcium, magnesium and other essential elements in prepared food from: http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_...ineralized.pdf Last edited by LDMomma; 10-12-2011 at 06:18 AM. |
