| Katrina Yorkie Found in Norco, LA This young intact male was found on Apple Rd near Marina (?) in Norco, LA (west of New Orleans). He had no collar, no tags, no tattoo, and no microchip. He has been with two other families until I got him @ 6 weeks ago. I have tried the traditional petfinding sites as well as regional forums for our area. I've run across this forum and thought I'd give it a try. Included is a link to photos of the pup. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/cuzzin...ph/cuzzinkate/ |

| Maybe you could PM CartersMom. She's down in Houma, and has newspaper connections. Maybe she could help spread the word in that area. He looks so sad in a couple of those pictures. Doesn't know how luck he is to have linked up with you! Do you need anything to help with his care?

He's a happy little guy now. I know I may get some flack on my decision to take him to the vet, vaccinate him and get him neutered on Monday. If his family loved him, they'll love him neutered, right? But, in the meantime, he needs to be de-dominated...off with the family jewels. If he isn't claimed...how would I know anyone claiming him is really his family--I've given all the info. I'm pretty much convinced I'll be keeping him. You are welcome to forward this thread to Cartersmom. I'm not yet sure how and have got hours of data entry to do today. I am willing to give him to his parents...but it's gonna hurt to lose the vet fees <g> Oh well, they hurt already. | |

| Norco Yorko Thanks for that encouragement. He loves my cocker (Chauncey) most of all. And I'm excited for Chauncey to have a friend of similar age. My other dog is a 14 yr old longhaired chi. He's a little too much for her. The whole hurricane has been a pet nightmare for me. I turned my animals (3 dogs, 2 cats) to the SPCA under duress when I evacuated, 10 days after the storm. Well, my cats are now in foster homes in CA. My Sadielove (rat terrier mix) was hit by a car and killed the second day I got her. At least I still had Chauncey & Chichi. I was evacuated and dropped in Belleville, Ill...$700 to get back, once I got out of the hospital for dehydration and chest pains. And I had a place to stay in the same city as the pet shelter to which my animals were taken, but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...I ended up in BFIllinois. It's been an ordeal. |
