Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | KONG Recipes? Hey guys! I have question for ya. What sorts of goodies do you use to stuff your furbaby's Kong toy with? I know you can buy things by the makers of Kong to use with it, but I have read where people put other things in there like peanut butter, kibble, freeze dried liver treats, etc. What would be good to stuff in these for Yorkies to keep them happy while chewing? Thanks so much for any info you can give me! Have a great weekend!

| A lot of people use peanut butter, but Jackson never liked PB anyways, and it wouldn't be my first choice as a treat. I like to put plain no fat yogurt in there and freeze it. I use canned food as well and freeze that. Sometimes I'll stick a few pieces of kibble in it and then "seal" the Kong with the canned food.

| The only things I've put in a Kong have been peanut butter, yogurt, frozen peas and kibble. I'd love to hear any other ideas for healthy treats.

| I would add cream cheese to the list. For an extra special treat you could smush up left over beef or chicken with the gravey and smear it on the inside. |

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | my 2 love a bit of english mild chedder cheese, they go mad for it so they only have it about once a month other than that they have gravy biscuits in there before I leave for work

| Chase and Calvin LOVE their Kongs I use plain nonfat organic yogurt, peanut butter, ground turkey, ground beef, chicken, canned food, kibble, treats, chicken baby food, and pumpkin. Not all together, it just depends on what I have. The latest favorite that we have been doing for about 2 months is Honest Kitchen and Grandma Lucy's frozen in the Kong. They love it |

| Someone mentioned oatmeal once to stuff in a kong. You also could do sweet potatoes.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Thanks! I definitely would like to try the sweet potatoes. I went onto Kong's website and they have a few tricks and techniques on there too if anyone is interested. Dog Treat Recipes - Pet Recipes | KONG Company

| Have not made one for Jack in quite some time, but we would put a few small treats in first and then put a bunch of peanut butter to "seal the treats in." Jack got to the point where he would have it cleaned up in no time, so we stopped giving them to him.

| I never really understood what you were supposed to do with a Kong, and that can of "stuff" looked so weird and old. I guess it sounds a lot better with regular food. Also never realized you were supposed to seal it with something LOL! I was like, how does that stay in there? It's gonna come out right away!

| I've been putting some canned (Rx) food with a little sweet potato fry in the middle. Tonight I'm freezing it so see if she'll eat it while I'm at work. I think that's our only option to fill it with, but she does think it's special if it's in her Kong.

| So when you freeze the Kong, and while they're working on it, doesn't the hair on their arms get really messy? I would imagine esp with PB. I gave Uni a greenie once before we all stopped giving greenies and she made a mess with it. That was the reason I stopped giving them, before I ever knew about the choking hazards etc.
