| Marley and Charlie...rescued dogs! This is so sad and unbelievable. I saw this on facebook a day or two ago and haven't been able to get that picture out of my mind. Two dogs were spotted by someone and the policeman that responded to the call contacted the SPCA. You can hardly tell these poor babies are dogs! They did not know the sex of the dogs until they had sedated them and shaved off their terribly matted and filthy hair. They named them Charlie and Marley and once shaved, found that they are both males. Charlie was 15 pounds prior to his shave and after his shave, weighed in at 9 pounds! Marley was 20 pounds prior to his shave and 15 pounds after. Unbelievable! They have figured that they are poodle mixes and 2-3 years of age, and that they have lived their entire lives in this condition. Good news in that heartworm test came back negative. Marley wasn't doing as well as Charlie and they have him on IV fluids and figure he needs another day or two of that. In the meantime, they are boarding Charlie next to Marley as they figure the two are so bonded and need each other to get through this process. I just, for the life of me, cannot understand how anyone could be so cruel to innocent little dogs. To think of what these poor babies have had to endure just sickens me. PTL they have been rescued and can finally find out what it is like to feel loved, happy and secure. Bless their hearts!

| Oh my goodness!! That is just horrible!! If it wasn't for their noses peaking out I would have honestly thought I was looking at a dirty old mop. How anyone could let them get this bad is beyond me. I can't believe they had to carry around an extra 5 plus pounds of weight due all to that matted hair. And to think that is all they've known their entire lives. Poor babies. Do they know who the owners were or any leads to them? I sure hope they get what is coming to them for leaving these poor babies in this condition. I am so glad they got rescued and will end up with a wonderful happy loving home in the end. They must just feel so good right now with all that yucky hair gone and literally a weight lifted off their bodies.

| Little else in this world makes me sadder than to think of innocent babies suffering with things just don't understand, especially at the hand of miserable humans. I pray they get the most wonderful home and get to feel love and security for a long time to come.

| That is one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever seen Those poor babies. Who could be so cruel. I hope they find the owners of these poor pups and that they are punished severely. I feel like there is a special place in Hades for people who abuse defenseless animals like this.

YT 1000 Club Member | What a sad, sad story . This brought tears to my eyes. I cannot understand how ANYONE can be so cruel and inhumane. I hope these babies get better and are adopted by a family who loves them.

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | Oh my goodness. What is wrong with people. Do you realize what kind of condition those poor dogs had to live in? This makes me so sad and really really mad. They had to live a horrible first two to three years

| I'm just about speechless. Where were these dogs found? Who was supposedly in charge of them??? I would like to see the person (or people) who were responsible for them getting into that kind of shape, prosecuted!!

| That's horrible! I can only imagine how they smelled! Glad they were somewhat healthy but the mental damage and time it will take for them to heal will be a journey. I hope they find loving FOREVER homes!

| This is so digusting. These poor babies, I don't know how they could tell they were dogs. I can't imagine they belonged to someone, looks like they have been on their own for a long time. God Bless the people that rescued them.

| I believe they were found in a park in NC. I don't think they know who the owners are, but I hope and pray they can find out and prosecute them. Good news! Marley is doing better and will be discharged today. Then the two boys will be taken to their foster home for further recovery. For the first time in their lives, they will be loved and cared for! Bless their sweet little hearts!

| Wow that is so sad. The first picture they didn't even look like dogs! Looked like some crazy vine or tree! So glad these guys are recovering.
