| I didnt read this whole thread but wanted to add my 2 cents. I was at a dog show once and a lady that had a booth was also a groomer and exhibitor. She had a little yorkie that had the prettiest hair in a sweater. I commented on how pretty her facial furnishings were and she showed me her clip. She just took all the blue off leaving nly the tan. It looked like the dog had a full coat in clothing but no matts! I think it isa great idea. |

Robbie, On this "Lion" cut, is the neck shaved down? It is such a cute cut, I'm having my girls done tomorrow and my groomer wondered what he should do with the neck? Sheila

| I love that cut! I saw that picture about a year ago and haven't been able to find it again to show my husband how cute it is. Thanks

| Goodness, I haven't seen this thread in a while, LOL! I did do my boy in this cut last year. I've since let him grow out. But as far as the neck, it was trimmed down pretty good. It graduated into thicker hair as it reached the throat. If your yorkie has really thick hair, you'll love this cut for the summer. I had mine done during cold weather but he has lots of clothes, LOL |

Still confused about the neck. Anyone who's tried this cut have any pics or want to attempt more info? Ginger's been chewing on her sides lately (I think she has spring allergies), and I'm trying to grow her hair out. I've been looking for a way to shorten her sides up, but still let her top knot etc, grow out. I love that look!

| In a true lion clip the hair on the neck and front shoulders are left. I have my maltese in a modified lion clip. I shaved her neck though. I don't have any pictures developed yet of it. I will try to get some on here though. I really like the clip. It looks like they are in full coat when they have clothes on. My husband told me not to do the yorkie he wasn't thrilled with the cut. He was very unhappy with me for doing the maltese. I figured I'm the one that brushes and bathes the dogs so I should do what I want with the hair. The maltese does not like baths and hates to be brushed so I figured this clip is easiest for the both of us. |

| About the neck...... I have cut two of my dogs (different breeds) similiar to this cut. I have the short cut go up to the neck and even under the area that the collar lays on. Beyond the collar, the hair is once again long. It isn't tapered. At that area (line) around the neck - it changes from short to long. You see "short" beneath the collor -- and "longer hair" above the collar. Good luck! Carol Jean |

It's called a Snorkie Cut! From the ones that I have seen the body is not cut as close as your picture shows. The Body is left a bit longer. Your furbaby is just tooo cute! I think that would be a darling cut.
