| ![]() I bought Lola and will admit that I was naive to not do some better research on where she came from. I will forever moving forward rescue dogs after learning the sad truth about puppy mills. I am happy to have given her a loving and happy home, but so upset in hind site that i wasn aware of what i was supporting getting her where i did. |

| ![]() Sort of bought sort of rescued....Toby has been with us for a lil over a month....lady who had him couldn't take care of him anymore and asked a rehoming fee...she had paid $800 for him, something i could never afford, He's a great yorkie with an occasional accident here & there but we're working on that :-) |

| ![]() i dont see anything wrong with buying from an ethical breeder. but i also think its great to adopt! i happen to have both. i bought Ziggy from a breeder who lives about 30 min from my home! I am very happy with that decision, even bought my friend one form there too. i also have a 5 year old Rescue border collie mix from the SPCA. i got him as a puppy. i dont know his story but he has trust issues with strangers and is very protective of me. But i love him anyway and i dont regret that either. i think its a personal choice. both are good if done correctly and with ethical people.

| ![]() you are such a wonderful person for all the rescuing and care you have done for these animals. God Bless you for it. I purchased one from a bad breeder and learned my lesson the hard way about never supporting unethical breeders again. The second i rescued, he was dumped at a groomers at a vet's office and never picked up. he had severe skin irritations on his belly i assumed from being left in his crate and in his own urine all day. he had rope burns on his neck and he had demodex and has battled it off and on ever since. we think we're finally over it completely. he had a long road to learn not to fear people or other animals. he gets along with sadie. in fact he lets her beat up on him all the time. he's sweet and loving, and i can see in his eyes a light and a happiness he didn't used to have. he's also a therapy dog now. what better way to give back to those that rescued him than for him to rescue others somehow in service. i love rescue and will defin do it again many times. |

| ![]() Peyton was my very good freind Joans dog. Joan had 3 yorkies and had to find homes for all of them when she found out how sick she was with Cancer. Joan was an animal lover. her whole life was devoted to animals, she showed animals. she had a boarding and grooming business. she would rescue animals, she also had Champion Irish Setters and Dobermains. she made sure she found all her animals good homes. that was very important to her. Joan was very happy when i told her i wanted to take one of her Yorkies. i have had Peyton for just about one year now. she has fit right in at my home with my 2 chihuahuas just perfect.

| ![]() My first 2 I bought from a not so good breeder. My 3rd one I got from a breeder here on YT and she came highly recommended. We love all 3 though regardless of where they came from.

| ![]() Roxie was a re-home of sorts, but I know her previous owner purchased her at a Petland store in Florida, so I assume she's a puppy mill pup. ![]() Two years ago my sister-in-law, who is originally from Florida, was living with her mom here in NY., when her mom decided to up and move back to Florida. SIL was already engaged to my brother, so she moved in with him. His apartment building doesn't allow pets. She didn't want to send Roxie all the way to Florida, where she would rarely get to see her, and wouldn't know how she was taken care of. I said I would take her for the weekend and if I liked having her, I would keep her. Well, the rest as they say, is history. She's now my dog and I love her to pieces. It's still so weird to me. I NEVER wanted a pet of any kind. I didn't want to get attached, and then have to deal with heartbreaking loss down the road. But, now she's here, and she's part of my family and I couldn't be happier. ![]()

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() Cali was bought from a BYB (bad) and in a way I feel I rescued her. She was so sick the first 8 months I had her I spent 8,000.00 in vet bills. I think a lot of people would have had to give her back or give her up due to the cost. Pixie and Roxie were from a good breeder. Nikki was a rescue that an elderly lady I became friends with adopted and couldn't afford his care. I took care of his expenses and then his owner had a stroke (and later passed away) and I took Nikki. That was 20 months ago. At that time my vets thought he was 18 years old. He is almost blind, has no teeth but is still enjoying life.

| ![]() We have 5 dogs they were all bought except for Oliver who we found on the back lot of our drug store right before Chistmas last year. He was only 6 weeks old when we found him and 3 1/2 pounds. Now he's almost a year old and weighs about 23 lbs)(just a guess). |

| ![]() ![]() By the time the puppies were 4 weeks old Mr. Nonames Here really could not bear the sight of what he call 'a ugly Neanderthal Yorkie. He was twice the size of his delicate sisters. His bitch and stud were beautiful show dogs. How anything that clumsy, giant, and so not showable, could come from the perfect match ? He was appalled and embarrassed him. So he felt the best thing was to put the puppy to sleep , just like he had never been born. The Vet in good conscious could not put the puppy down and told Mr. Names Here he would find him a home instead. Mr. Nonames Here agreed as long as his name or line were ever revealed. ( I am serious ). Wrapping this story up is easy. This pup with the floppy ears and beautiful eyes became my first Yorkie Willbe. Named Willbe because he was my baby and always will be my baby. Willbe lived to be 12 years old. He weighed about 10 pounds. He was my baby, companion and dear friend. I still miss him today.

| ![]() Cozy was a rehome from a breeder. Her 1st owner was diagnosised with breast cancer after buying her. Cozy was 5 months old when I got her. So I guess she is a rehome. Roxy , Zoey, and Lucy we're born into the family from Cozy. My dogs have always come from breeders but my cats have been rescues. It is so much easier to adopt a cat than a dog. I don't have a fenced backyard and reside don't generally let you adopt a dog without one. Cats are indoor pets so as long as you say they will be indoors you can adopt one.

| ![]() My first dog was bought from a breeder that I researched and drove 4 hours to visit personally. He still ended up with a few health problems but it was my first dog and I really wanted a puppy, also saved him from being sold as a stud to some woman in flordia so that 1/2 counts right? My second dog I really was looking to rescue but then I accidently walked into a store that sold puppies (I know I know), I say I pre-rescued her though because anyone else would have given her up by now or bred her. Once I saw her face and heard the other stupid people that wanted her I just couldnt leave her there, my heart wouldnt let me. I think to make up for that though when I get a house I'm gonna foster and if I ever get another yorkie it's gonna be a rescue and a senior or specail needs one. In the mean time I work for the SPCA helping lots of animals find homes so hopefully it all balances out in the end ![]()
