Maybe you need to google the stories entitled animals die at PetCo in Johnson City, NY. Maybe your local PetCo does not sell puppies and such but PetCo is notorious through out much of the U.S. for selling puppy mill puppies. This story is well known through out the north east. People are outraged for good reasons. Puppies as well as other animals were left to drown as the flood waters came into the store. I live in the region. It IS PetCo.

First of all, please let me say I am very, very sorry for your loss. I don't believe this is a valid comparison, however. Petco is part of a large corporation. This particular store isn't a single business being run by one store manager who makes all the decisions. The corporation sets policies all Petco stores are required to follow. All Petco stores are company owned and operated. Their corporation has a duty to protect all living creatures in their care, whether they're employees or animals. This is why I firmly believe they should be boycotted.

No Petco doesn't sell Puppies I really think you are getting it confused with another store there are 4 around me that I go to and when I go out of town Petco is normally the easiest petstore to find and I have never seen puppies or ever heard of puppies being sold there.

Petco does not sell puppies. They have adoption days where rescues can have their dogs available for adoption out there... but they do not sell puppies.

If you support PetCo you support puppy mills plain and simple. No, I am not confused. You refuse to see the facts as they are. It is simple enough to look up a nationally recognized story but you refuse to because of you have decided the issue for yourself. If PetCo had regard for the lives of defenseless animals they would not support puppy mills and those animals would not have died a slow terrifying death while caged in a PetCo store! If more people would refuse to support puppy mill stores like PetCo we could stop puppy mills all together.

I am not condoning their actions. I think it is horrific what those poor animals had to go through. But the fact that you are stating untrue facts about a company (like that they sell puppies) is not right. Please give me a link, a photo, a news article, anything proving that Petco sells puppies.

Trash them all you want for what they did during the flood, it's horrible. But don't spread more lies about a company.

Petco does NOT sell puppies.

PetCo WAS 'busted' for supporting pup mills, some undercover TV op. I can't find it now it was totally National though someone should remember or be able to find it, they have "adoption events" for rescues...welll hmmm some of their rescues were simply pup mills and PetCo claimed no knowledge but they are supposed to know and it was questionable weather they did or not...
PetCo DOES sell chinchillas from Chin Farms-same as pup mills...

I had a nightmare last night. I saw their little noses being thrust out of the tops of their cages, the crying and yelping and trying to dig their way out, it was the most horrible thing I've even experienced. I hugged my little guys so hard it scared them. I wish I had never heard anything about this. Even now awake, I can't get those images out of my mind.

I have never seen not one puppy sold in PETCO i have seen adoption events going on. And have seen cats there but they are from the local animal shelter. And I have been all over the place. Maybe your PETCO has dogs from the local humane society and not puppy mills at all
