| I was curious if anyone has noticed if dogs not chewing their food and swallowing it whole makes their poop maybe more enticing to the other dogs who like to eat it? if that makes sense. My yorkie has off and on ate poop. Usually his own, as he doesnt chew his food, he swallows it whole. And i have always wondered if that makes it smell like dog food more??? Now, we have a labrador puppy, who does not eat his own, but wants the little dogs poop, this grosses me out soooooo bad! But he only wants the two dogs who dont chew their food. am i crazy or does this make any sense? The one who does chew his food well, he doesnt touch this poop!!! I have been cleaning up poop like crazy to keep this from happening, however this morning, still half asleep i let them out to go potty, and i watch from the porch with no shoes on, and the lab waits for our jack Russell to go potty, as soon as he is done he wanders over and eats the whole pile!!!! Makes me almost puke , as i run thru the yard barefoot yelling no and he acts like he doesnt even hear me. Which also makes me crazy, cause in the house he listens to no so well!!! Then i let out farley, our yorkie, and i let him in and he is eating his own poop!!!!! Sorry for such a long post, but i have been looking online all morning for solutions to my problem! And it makes me so mad at them, i dont want them on me or near me after it happens, its so dirty and gross. I know its not that harmful to them but its just gross |

| Gosh. I was just reading your post. I'm so glad you were able to find a solution to your problem. I knew there was something you can feed the dog that is supposed to help but I never imagined it was pinapple! I have never had the challenge of dealing with this problem and hope I never do but it's always good to learn something new! |

| I have seen a product at walmart in the pet section to deter from eating poop...thankfully Pita doesn't do it but I can't say whether or not it works. She is still young, so hopefully she will grow out of it. |

| I have 7 dogs and of the 7, 3 of them will eat poop. They will eat their own and other dog poops too. One thing I have noticed is that they don't eat all other dogs poop and at our house no one eats Bella's poop (she is the only Yorkie). I don't think they leave hers alone because she is a Yorkie, but I think she burns her food so efficiently that there is nothing left to entice them. I think (and remember this is just my opinion) I think when a dogs poop is very attractive to either themselves or other dogs, its because the DONOR either doesn't burn the food appropriately or their digestive tract just isn't 100 percent. This is why a change of food may help sometimes. A different food may digest differently or better for a specific dog.
