haha. That video is cute. I can't wait to take my dog to the beach to romp around. I am concerned that you are right. That he may be mixed with something. My allergies are very odd. They are good with some breeds and not with others. There is no way to know what he is, considering they found him in the streets of Pennsylvania, lost in front of a dollar store. I am so confused.

There is also an old dog in the area for adoption. But I don't know if that would be a good idea or not.

I was just looking at his before and after pictures. The date stamp for the before grooming pictures is only from 8/20 so he would only have been in rescue for about 2 weeks. That seems a little quick to me. What is the name of the rescue?

To me he looks a lot like my daughters silky. But she has bad allergies and he does not bother her. I have had full yorkies weigh 12 to 14 so it is possible. Go spend time with him and see. I think he is adorable. But be sure he does not need anymore stress then he has already had.

Why do you think you will not be allergic to a Yorkie? Most allergies are caused by the dander that is created by the skin of the dog. Some people think because some Yorkies have no undercoat that they will have no allergies but that is not the truth. The dog still has skin and all dogs produce dander. Some people have reactions to the dried saliva from the dogs mouth. Since dogs lick themselves the saliva dries on the skin and fur and some people react to it.
I would discuss this with your doctor before getting a dog. Some Yorkies have undercoats and some do not. Not having an undercoat just means there is less fur to hold the dander on the body. The dander is still going to go somewhere.
It would be a shame to get a Yorkie and then have to get rid of it because someone has a reaction to him. There are things you can do to keep the dander at a minimum but you would have to be constant in your attempts to keep allergens down. My daughter is very allergic to the saliva factor. She will break out in hives if Gracie just licks her. She also starts wheezing at times. She moved back home after I already had Gracie and I am not going to get rid of my fur baby. DD controls her issues with medication. She loves animals anyway and will probably always have to take allergy meds.

It's not that we think that we're not allergic to Yorkies. We just know that we aren't. With most dogs I am just a mess... But with some breeds, I am totally fine. For some reason, I'm not allergic to Tibetan Terriors. I'm not allergic to Yorkies. And I'm good with maltese, and pretty sure I'm fine with schnauzers. But dogs like labs, german shephards, etc. just kill me.

All my research shows all yorkies have no under coats?

I have a beautifull fun loving 15 lb yorkie. Dont let size keep you from adopting this yorkie. The bigger ones need good homes too and there are alot of people who wouldnt adopt one just because they are bigger

Have you looked into any rescue groups? The picture of that boy looks a lot like the Australian Terrier. australian terrier - Google Search Here is a really good rescue group that doesn't "sell" their fosters like another rescue I know that does.
