| Sometimes Uni will drink really cold water too quickly and she will kind of do a cough thing and she has to stop drinking. I think that's brain freeze.

Brain freeze is caused by the rapid cooling then rewarming of the capillaries in the sinuses that stimulate certain cranial nerves causing a referred pain. I'm no expert on canine comparative anatomy, but it would stand to reason if the nerves are in similar places that they would have a similar sensation.

| I think they can get brain freeze. I remember as a child, my Dad would give our poodle soft ice cream and one day he looked just like he had a brain freeze and stopped eating it. He pawed on his head and everything. Never would eat ice cream again. (Not saying my Dad should have been doing this obviously, just remembering.)
