| I am FURIOUS Okay, I hate to report this, but I let a friend of mine take my baby. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but I feel was the best thing for him. I work all the time and we are remodeling a house so I leave at 7am and most nights dont come home till 9:30- 10:00pm. Anyway, he has been making this weird sound now for a couple of years. I have taken him to the vet and the vet actually him making this noise. He said it was him getting too excited and wanting attention. I would get on to him him when he would make this noise because the vet said not to pamper him when he does this. I thought it had something to do with his trachea (dont knw how to spell it) because yorkies are prone to trouble with that. Long story short, my friend of course took him to her vet and he made the noise there. HE HAS ASTHMA...... He was having asthma attacks this whole time. I want to strangle that vet. My baby was having trouble breathing. Good news is he is now on meds and doing better. I feel so bad because i didnt get another opinion. I feel like a horrible mommy because I would get onto him for it.

| Don't be to hard on yourself. We even sometimes unfortunately make these same mistakes with our human kids. At least now it is taken cared of and your baby will feel a lot better. I'm glad your friend decided to get it checked out too. That day was meant to be. Now you and your baby can breathe better.

| It's not your fault the vet didn't do his job. We sometimes have to rely on experts, but unfortunately they're not all as good as they should be. At least the little guy is doing much better now Try to look at the positive because you can't change the past.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | You had no way of knowing. You did the hardest thing giving him up. They say things happen for a reason and it looks like the reason was for him to get a different diagnosis. I am glad he is doing better.

| You are not horrible! you trusted your vet , and the vet was wrong, that is not your fault at all. I am sorry you had to rehome your yorkie, but you did what was in the best interest of your dog. you loved him enough to do so. Try not to be so hard on yourself.

| Don't blame yourself...some things can get missed even by professionals. At least now you know what is wrong and he is getting treatment.

| So glad you found out what it is and now you know what you are dealing with. I really appreciate a good vet and doctor and they are both hard to find. When my youngest son was around 2yrs. of age I called the doctor because he had a lymph node on his neck that was swollen. Now mind you we had used the pediatrican for years and his comment was, Well, what do you think, he has cancer?? I hung up the phone, called back and changed doctors and had his records moved right then. Don't understand why they take things sometimes so lightly. When they do, its time to move on. Hope that baby does fine. Bless you and your friend for caring for him and being concerned. |

| I lean to collapsed trachea problem...much more common then asthma...and asthma meds can be of help with trach problems..but it really might be what the vet says...just saying I have seen many pet owners treating their dogs for it and it was the trach....as long as meds work..great. |

| So sorry you had to give up yoru baby. Don't be hard on yourself. We are supposed to trust our vets!! I have a hard time doing that at times. You did what you were supposed to do. It is the vets fault he did not catch the real problem. Not yours. But, on the bright side, he is doing better and that is what counts!!
