I do no scraping at home. Can't get close to the gum line and can't buff them after, so it's usually just a cosmetic procedure if done without anesthesia.

I totally agree with the above As far as the risk of anesthesia, it is far less than the risk of illness due to periodontal disease.

My pups have dentals every year unless the vet feels it is not needed...most times it is.

It's the second tooth - the smaller one that is the baby tooth that needs removed. Your vet will know which one. Double canine teeth are common in Yorkies, for some reason they don't loosen and fall out on alot of dogs. The puppy teeth have shallow roots but if they don't fall out the second tooth can hide alot of plaque and cause alot of problems.

Do you take Zhoie in for anesthetic teeth cleaning every year or nonanesthetic ones? I plan on taking my babies in for teeth cleaning once they are 2.5 years old. I will be taking them in for a annual checkup so I will have the vet take a look too.
