| Positive vibes needed for cocos spay! Hello everyone! Last week i posted a thread regarding what to pack for coco in prep of her spay. Her surgery date is tomorrow at one thirty Im kind of nervous because in a few threads down i read that dogs could go into heat without knowing. Cocos seven and a half months and im hoping she hasnt gotten her firs heat. But who know? She has pretty sneaky moments. Anyways warm wishes vibes thoughts and prayers that she does well! Since this is my first female and mickey was neutered 14 years ago (and i was 9 years old) any tips and advice for her home coming and etc? Thanks a lot! P.s it seems like its spay season i saw a few threads on it. Anyone elses babies going through spay/neuter surgeries my positive vibe prayers and thoughts are on its way via express airplane

| Good thoughts and hugs to you and Coco. My Sassy was 8 months old when she was spayed in June. she went into heat and I didn't know until it started. I had to wait a month for all the swelling to go down before the vet would spay her. She came home the same day, she had inside stitches so she didn't have to wear one of those fashionable collars, she would have found some way to rip it off. She came home groggy, with pain meds which she got 1 time a day. I gave them to her for 4 days just to relax her, I have 3 other Yorkies. She did great, after a few days she was eating great and acting like nothing happened. I just tried to keep her from doing any crazy stuff because she is my "wild child".

| Sending happy thoughts and best wishes to you and Coco. It will be fine! best thing I did was get a couple infant onsies for Jovi - she was not a fan of the cone or collar but would wear the onsie and it kept her from licking - she did fine - stiches came out on day 10 and you would never know anything happened - that was 2 weeks ago. |

| Josie was spayed when she was in heat. No big deal. She was probably in heat for 2-3 days. I thought I could get through her being in heat and keep Jack from her. What a nighmare at least for me. (1st time female and male owner at 1-time) I knew I could not breed her and Jack together, Jack being larger than her but I was going to try and hold off just in case the right guy come alone. I couldn't keep them apart. The first night I did have them apart Jack was howling like a wolf. LOL Now I am so glad I had her spayed. In fact I took her and Jack same time and had them done same day. Jack springed back in a day or two it took Josie about 7-10 days. Best thing I could have done, especially since I have read on here about having pups and owner knowing nothing about the delivery. That would have been me. |

| I went to the vet and got to see coco she looked great and she didnt look like she was in pain but thats probably because she was on pain killers. I could tell that she really doesnt like the cone. hehe poor coco! she looks so funny withthis cone on because shes tiny and this cone is pretty big lol instead of having her be hospitalized for 3 days i changed to 2 days and im excited for her to come home tomorrow! thanks for all the great vibes everyone
