Aww hope she feels better. Chelsea is getting spayed on the 29th of this month and I'm already nervous..lol I love the pic with her paws tucked in her pj's. =) |

It all sounds normal. The first thing Ellie showed interest in eating was my bowl of apple sauce. She didn't pee until the next morning. Just slept and slept. All spays should come home with pain meds. |

Don't wait until she is having pain!!! Then, it is harder to control. :( I medicate my pups for 3 days following surgery no matter what. I would rather give them a pain med and know they are pain free than to not give it and have them be in pain and not show it. They do not always show pain! My vet always sends pain meds home after spays. |

She had the equivalent of a hysterectomy. Whether she shows pain or not, she needs them. And an added bonus of meds can be the reduction of inflammation and/or light sedation. Dogs don't always show pain. Most hide it when possible. And studies show that less pain = faster healing. He does not have to give them to her. That's his call. It's your job as an owner to bug until he does. And if he gives you a hard time, then new vet time... |

Glad to hear she is home and all went well! Uni did not get sent home with pain meds, but she did get a pain med shot before she left. She was fine by the night, back to her normal self. |
Just a quick update to let everyone know how Poppy is doing. She is much better and almost back to her old self. She is eating as normal now and her stitches are healing well. Thanks again for everyone's concern and support. :) |
Thanks for letting us know how Poppy is doing. I'm glad she is doing so much better so fast. |
