Poppy is still sleeping and still not interested in food, here is a picture of her right now.. look how she has stuck her feet inside the baby grow to keep them warm LOL. :p

How sweet! As far as the stitches go, I thought Rory's looked like a blind man had stitched her up. They seemed really uneven and puckered to us, but her scar is barely visible now. Lane was spayed at the rescue, so I don't have much to compare Rory's too as far as normal. I can't remember what our family pets looked like after being fixed.

It just looks so gory, the stitching is neat but the stitches are longer then I expected (probably easier to take them out next week I don't know). I tried to take a picture before but there is a lot of dry blood on her tummy so you can't really see the stitches just the blood. I will probably have to wait until she is healed a bit more and has the stitches out so I can clean her up and take a better picture.

I know that the stitches look pretty scary but after some of the swelling goes down it wont look so bad.
Glad she is home and resting.
It is our turn next week,I am not excited but know that it needs to be done.

I am so glad it's over with and she or I don't have to worry about heats, phantom prenancy or the risk of cancer any more. Today hasn't been nice at all, but I know it will be worth it.

Glad the surgery went well and Poppy is resting----I know how hard it is seeing them like this, but in a few days she will be her old self. ;)

Rachael, I'm so happy she's home and doing well. Keep in mind that the pain med injection is going to make her extremely tired and groggy. She may not feel like doing much of anything. It may be best to let her rest as much as possible.

Thank you, she seems that way. All she has done all day is sleep. She has had maybe 3-4 little drinks but nothing to eat. She did a poop this morning before her spay but since she has came home she has only pee'd the once even though I have carried her outside lots of times. She just wants to sleep it seems. I don't mind as I would prefer her sleepy then running everywhere when she should be getting rest because of her stitches. But just wish she would eat something! :(

So glad to see her home and resting. It may be she just drank too much the first time and her tummy wasn't ready for it. I think if she just eats and drinks in moderation she will be fine. She wagged her tail and that shows she is glad to be home. Sleep is best for her right now. She has water in her and it is more important that she drink than eat at this point. Certainly when she is ready to eat you can give her whatever she likes. Thanks for letting us know how you and she are doing.

Oh, I forgot. The anesthesia and the pain meds are going to slow down her bladder and bowels so don't worry that she is not putting out much right now. Just keep offering her a little water when she wakes and be happy she is sleeping. The water will eventually flush the anesthesia out of her system and she will be more alert. Same with the pain med. Right now she needs the rest and comfort that those meds are giving her.

Thank you, she is still very sleepy and has not left her bed for the best part of 8 hours! LOL.
