| Arthritis? My little girl sometimes acts like her legs are bothering her - she walks really slow and then alittle faster and then slower again- is arthritis common in Yorkies? Is there anything we can do to prevent it? Thanks for advice. |

| Yes sadly arthritis does occur. My Buster just turning 2 was diagnosed with arthritis in his front legs and luxating patella ( bad knees ) in his back. The Orthopedic Surgeon said to not let him jump on and off furniture (Right - still trying he has steps that he leaps by to jump down) The jumping down is hard on the front legs and jumping up the back. I give him glucosamine and chondroitin supplements to help. I would talk to your vet about it and if you can get a video of the walking to show the vet it might help with the diagnosis. Best wishes to you and your baby.

| Many dogs get arthritis as they age but having it in the younger years I would think would be something to do with heredity. |
