Pet Passport?

If u have read my last post u might understand why i am asking this question haha. I have planned to get Poppy her pet passport when i get back to the UK Its about £180 i think which aint to bad. I want to take her with me next year when i visit my family who live a 4 1/2 hour flight away.... i KNOW she will love it here!! How do i find out how much it is to fly her over? I cant see ANYTHING on the airline websites? Surely they must allow it? I am NOT leaving her at home ever again... from now on where i go... poppy wont be far behind me

I don't know anything about a pet passport, sorry....but I would be interested to hear the answer.

I know flying domestically here all I need are current vaccination records and a health certificate less than 30 days old.

depending on where you go, the health certificate is your pet passport. If you travel out of the country like Mr Kaji did a few weeks ago, his passport consisted of the health certificate, neuter certificate, and rabies certificate. Apparently, we don't get nifty rabies tags in Cali. As far as I know, that is what is needed if you go to Mexico. And it's $80 for a certificate only valid for 30 days. And the rule is you have to get the certificate 2-3 days before the flight, and you have 30 days from the date it was issued to get your tail back home.

Furbutt- try googling (name of airline) pet policy. There is usually a number or something you can call to find out concrete information. If you do call, ask if they can email you their pet policy that they just explained to you over the phone. Almost 2 years ago, the airline I used conveniently changed their pet policy from the time I reserved Kaji's seat to when I was physically checking in. It ended up being $20 more each way. I wish I had something in writing to hold them to.

I know that's just for a vet clinic in the UK but it's pretty informative. The UK has insanely stringent rules, be sure that you aren't going to have to put Poppy in quarantine for 6 months for taking her out of the country and trying to bring her back in.

You may have to put her in quarantine for 6 months each way because we don't have rabies here, that would be worse so you need to check that out.

With compliance to the Pet Scheme there is no quarantine.

I've paid anywhere from £50 - £200 each way, to fly my pup in-cabin depending on the airline & destination.

When flying with a pup, my first choices are always, Air Canada & Air France.
