| Educational Experience I have learned quite a bit from babysitting my neighbor's Yorkie this weekend. 1. My dog is territorial. We did not realize he thought that the sofa, floor, and most of the house was HIS and his to share or not share as he saw fit. It isn't terrible, but it is not great. We can control him,but it's stressful. 2. He can learn, and it is so much work. Hats off to those of you who have integrated new dogs into your home. I'm pretty darn worn out. 3. Yorkies are so, so "emo" as the kids would say. Well, I already knew that, but having two of them stare at me with sad eyes is nuts. 4. I probably will stick with having one dog. Probably because Dinky is the way he is. It's really disappointing to see his behavior. They have played together many times, but he just sees it as different when I hold her etc. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | It's tough having another dog invade your space. It's different when you bring a new dog in permanently, they will eventually get used to each other. When I had my little foster buddy, Rhett was really bent out of shape for the first week. By the second week they all got along and could share my lap. He came back to stay with me for a few days last month and it took all of an hour to get everyone back to being the best of friends again.

| thanks! That makes me feel better. It's hard not to feel like you've raised a little beast when you see him act like that! I think we would probably be working it differently too if it were permanent. I feel bad for the little girl too. She, unlike, my Dinky, is as good as gold. She definitely wants to keep her distance from him, but she is pretty calm about the whole thing. |

| You shouldn't be concerned that Dinky behaved in a territorial way. Completely natural. Max was fascinated with new little brother when he brought Teddy home, but Max still guarded things like the piddle pads, beds, and his humans. Strangely, he didn't mind Teddy in his food bowl. Max went ballistic when I tried to offer Teddy his crate that Max never used for much of anything. Silly boy. All of the territorialism and jealousies were worked out over time.

| I probably need to understand that it is natural for him to behave that way. I think DH and I feel as if we failed somehow to curb his aggressiveness. He was mostly territorial, but a little aggressivetoo. Sometimes he just can not stand it and nips at our legs when we hold her. So that behavior is way not okay. I am glad that I got to see this side of Dinky. It makes me realize that he is a little "critter" with animal instincts. Itsy goes home tonight or tomorrow, and I think we will work on a few extra house rules with Dinky. Thanks for the advice! |

| Well, Dinky has his house and mom back. Itsy went home. By this morning he was finally starting to respect her space. She was phenomenal the entire time. He has a lot to learn, but he learned a lot this weekend, and so did we. |
