| Pee on me Hi all!! It is the second time that Cali, my 14 weeks puppy, pee on my lap. I am just sitting on the floor and playing, then she comes on my lap and make a big pee like it is totally normal. She wasn't too excited or scared and her pee pad was not far.. I am wondering why she does that?? Is it to show dominance? Has anybody's pup done that |

| Well, I think she's just excited and pees before she realizes she's doing something wrong. She's still a baby and learning. Tell her (gently) no, no and put her on the pad and tell her "good dog" just like you would if she peed anywhere else not on the pad. Fourteen weeks is still a very little baby! Jeanette |

| Thanks for my morning laugh! One of mine likes to poop on the floor mat in the kitchen in front of the sink. I stepping right on the fresh poop this morning - yuck! Mine are 15 and 13 weeks. The first weekend I had my little ones, I spend a lot of time in the bathroom with them sitting on the floor. (The bathroom is their safe puppy area so I wanted to get them comfortable in there.) I had their beds on one side, toys and food in front of me and potty pads on the other side of me. Whenever they started the potty walk and sniff, I would put them on the potty pad and tell the to go potty. Puppy brain is a funny thing - hang in there. |

| I think its excitement peepee...at 14 weeks they can not hold there pee or poop for any amount of time...when they gotta go they gotta go. What I did when I was potty training my pups, starting at 12 weeks old...I confined them to a doggie play yard...its big enought for food/water/bed on one side and a potty pad on the other side...they did not have full run of the house...I took them outside every 1-2 hours...when I was getting them out of the play yard I would say to them...lets go outside to potty or if your pad training for inside, I would say the samething but I would say lets go potty and take her to the potty area you want her to go to...keep saying go potty until she does, if she doesn't go I would put her back in the play yard for a few minutes and than try again...when she does her business on the potty pad or outside....throw a huge potty party, telling her what a good girl she is and give her a treat that she really likes...and what I mean by throwing a potty party, get very excited and happy, showing her how happy you are that she pottied in that area...yorkies love to please you and once she see how happy and pleased you are, she will contunue to try and please you cause she wants that attention...than keep her out of the play yard for some play time with you, but you watching her very closely the whole time...than before putting her back in her confined area take her back to the pad or outside so she can potty again...always take them to the potty pad / outside every 2 hours, after they eat/drink/playing, first thing in the mornings, right before you go to bed..before putting then back in the play yard...if she does have an accident and you catch her in the middle of it....Say NO and take her right to the pad or outside and say to her go potty in a happy exciting voice..never punish or yell/hit or sticking her nose in it...that will make her fear you for one thing and than she will start hiding her potty accidents and you don't want that...Potty training is a 24/7 job that never ends, not even when you think she is fully trained...I still throw potty parties for my 3, Bella is 3 yrs old and Harley & Ivy are only 9 mos old...and they are all fully trained but I know if I don't enforce/treat on a daily bases there will be accidents and always keep in mind she may still have the rare accident...as she gets older she will be able to control her potty and hold it longer...My 2, 9 month old pups can go all night sleeping in our bed anywhere from 6 to 10 hours without any accidents but at 14 weeks they really can't control or hold it very long...its gonna take consistency on your part...her potty training success starts with you. Good luck!

| Piper use to pee in my lap when she was a puppy. She would also sometimes pee in her sleep. She would even pee while playing ball. I would throw the ball down the hall and as Piper was chasing after it she would leave a trail of pee. I was convinced she had an urinary infection but all tests were negative. Thankfully she did out grow it.
