Nikko is constantly digging at my floor!! Apparently he thinks he's going somewhere because he digs with such passion!!

It gets really annoying sometimes and I tell him firmly to stop but he just ignores me and keeps right on digging. He digs on the sofa, on my hardwood floors and even in his crate. I know this is an instinctive behavior in terriers but how can i get him to stop being so destructive?

How old is he? Simon was such a digger as a puppy but grew out of it! You are so right, they do dig with passion

Hallie still digs in her crate but just to move stuff around to get comfortable.

Nikko is 6 1/2 months old. He is pretty much starting to outgrow some of his destructive puppy behaviors but he still has a long way to go. At what age do they start to calm down?

Calm down? hahahahahahahahahahahaha you got me! Ok I'm kind of kidding but energy wise, Simon is still a puppy (he's 2)! He quit digging and being destructive when he found something else he loved to do and for him it was playing ball, he became obsessed with that and still is which is fine by me since it's not destructive!

Trixie digs in everything except for the hardwood floors. She digs in the couch, the carpet, her crate, the grass, sand... I firmly tell her 'no' when she digs inside... but I do let her do it outside!

yeah Crunchy fervently digs toooo!!! its like hes trying soooo hard to get somewhere. he does it mostly on the couch or on his pillow/bed cushion...its like he just zones out and thats the only thing hes focusing on.

Let me tell you when I take Teddy & Tiffy out to potty...Not a few seconds later there's Tiffy diggin in the yard! Teddy does a little but not like Tiffy. They also dig in their beds and yes the floor! Can I ask how you all get your photos to stay on the side of your post? I don't know how to do it! LOL! Call me batty! Hugs, Lee

Oh yeah.. our little Tay-terror definetely has days where she will dig and dig into the carpet in her secret passage! lol

Toby digs in the house... luckily he doesn't dig outside! Carpet, his bed, my bed, his pillow in the car, etc.

Lee to answer your question regarding the picture on the left -- that is called an avatar. You can click on User CP and choose edit avatar. Then you can load you picture from that. It's been a long time since I did mine -- but it's fairly easy (if I remember right)!

I'm changing Maggie's name to "BackHoe". She digs everywhere. I asked her one day if she was going to China. All I saw was her little butt sticking up out of the hole. Good thing I was there to pull her out. If she's not digging, she burying something. Don't ask her where she put something, because that might cause her to dig a new hole looking for it.

Peppy digs in my down pillow. He LOVES that pillow and claims it when Chattie isn't in the middle of it. But he MUST dig dig dig and get it just right before he lays down! LOL

I don't always understand them but I always love 'em.
