| ![]() My girls are six years old and still "dig to china" . I think it's cute, and as long as they don't harm anything......don't forget, they were origionally bred to go after rats in tunnels and mines, I think. ![]() |

| ![]() My Yorkie, Jasmine only digs at night just before she lays down to sleep. She will dig and dig. Last night she dug and dug at my husband sweat shirt he had taken off and thrown on the couch. She finally got it just right and laid down on it and went to sleep. My Westie, Duffy, digs all all the time. He digs big holes in my flower beds and in the yard. He also tries to dig the carpet or couch in the house. He is always "burying" his dog bone treats down in the couch or in a throw or anywhere he can. I had all my friends out for brunch last summer and I had just bathed him the night before so he would be all pretty. He wanted out and a few minutes later all my friends started laughing and looking out the patio doors. He was sitting at the doors looking in. He was a muddy mess. He had been digging in the freshly watered flower bed and had mud all over him, especially his feet and all over his muzzle which he also digs with. They thought it was hilarious. I didn't. Yesterday, he was outside with my husband and grandchildren and fell in the garden fishpond. He can be a challenge at times, but I love him. |

| ![]() My Wosie digs mostly on soft things, but she seems so happy when she is doing it that as long as she is not tearing something up, I am OK with it. It's really fun to watch her, she is concentrating soooooo hard!! She's so adorable! I'm probably a little biased tho, lol!

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | ![]() You can always tell when someone hits upon a universal Yorkie 'truth' when there are almost as many responses to a thread as there are views. This had 17 responses and 18 views. LOL Eddie digs in the yard, he digs in the house, he especially annoys me when he digs at my pocket to try to get treats I'd forgotten I'd left in there. I feel like spraying myself with green apple to get him to stop.

| ![]() Mac is a major digger. He loves to dig the mattress, the sofa, the carpet, his bed. Mellie is a burier, I crack up when she buries her treats in the blankets, she nudges with her nose, picks up the end with her teeth, pushes with her paws it's so cute. Then along comes Mac and steals it, or Mellie will walk away and then come back with the OH look what I just found buried.

| ![]() That's just like Nikko. I can tell him to stop until I am blue in the face and he keeps right on going!! Sometimes when he is cuddling on my lap with this favorite plush toy he will softly dig into my lap. It doesn't bother me and it seems to relax him. It is only when he is digging furiously into my hardwood floors that it drives me insane!! And he also does this thing where after I give him a bath he runs all over the house dripping wet and he jumps on the sofa and digs and digs like he is trying to escape from prison!! ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Stewie digs in bed and I think it is just about the funniest thing I've ever seen. He digs a little spot and then lies down. He also digs in the couch for Greenies that were apparently lost under the cushion.

| ![]() Casper tends to dig if left alone long enough outside (which isn't often) but at eight months his new thing is hiding my shoes under the bed behind the recliner or anywhere else he hides at and he tries to chew them up! not to mention he hoards paper and tissue under the bed so we have to be careful about leaving the bathroom door open. |

| ![]() Snoodles digs on the sofa, on my chair, on my husbands chair, in the carpet, in her bed, on her pillow, on my pillow etc. The newest thing, which she loves, is digging in the snow! She runs out, and digs in it and comes up with a face full of snow and then puts her nose in it and runs. It is funny! You would think it would freeze the heck out of her, but she loves it1 Pat |

| ![]() I understand that dogs, especially yorkies like to dig. However, Giovanni not only digs at the carpet but also pulls it up. I tell him firmly no but he keeps on doing it. What can I do to stop him from having to recarpet the house? |
