Both my boys wear bows and I could care less what anyone says. Their dogs should only look half as good as mine.

Maybe using 'boy' colors to help visitors decipher gender so you're not always having to correct them might help...there's nothing wrong with bows on male or female Yorkies...I think they're signature!

my female yorkie has a pink collar, pink lead, and pink harness and people still come up to me and say "awww what a lovely little boy he is" im thinking "shes wearing all pink! are you colour blind!?!?!?!"

it drives me crazy!!!!!

My yorkie is a girl, but I have a male shih tzu. When Oliver goes to the groomer they always put a blue bow on his topknot. My kids and sister always give me a hard time about it and say that he looks like a girl. In between grooming I just put it up with only a band - no bow - and they still have a problem with it. He's my dog, I don't care what other people say - I'll do what I want with his hair. I think he looks adorable with his "samarai topknot" because then I can see his beautiful brown eyes.

You guys rock...I feel much better and will not let it bother me....besides for the most part I use either a band or clip, he also has a crystal collar for special occasions. I shall continue to dress my babies hair as I see fit....so there!!!!lol

OMG that football bow on Darlin Beauxs is too cute!!! If I had a boy I would buy that one for him for sure, I don't think anyone would mistake him for a girl with that one on lol

I actually have a football one she made for my girl!! They are really cute. I am a huge Razorback fan and had a dress made for Rosie. So, I had to have a football bow too!! Here is what she made for Rosie.

Yes, I've got LOTS of boy dog bows... they're all categorized for easy shopping (ie cars/trucks/planes, sports/hobbies, bones/skulls, etc).

I agree! I say do whatever you want. Couver always wears his hair in a top knot, and we do often get the "Ohhhh, what a pretty girl!" I sometimes will correct them, and other times just let it be.

If I did have a boy Yorkie...I would definitely put a bow in his hair and if asked, I would just reply that it's his "bow tie" and that he prefers to wear his on his head vs. his neck!

If I had a boy yorkie, I'd definitely put bows in his hair too. You have to remember there are lots of clueless people out there, who don't know that all yorkies in the ring wear bows. 99% of the time Rory and Lane are wearing a dress with a matching bow, and their leashes/harnesses are pink. People still refer to them as boys...so you can't win!

This is so true!!! So far, I've had Kaji in a short haircut for the majority of the time I've owned him. His um, Mr Peepers is very obvious in a short cut. I've always gotten the he's a girl comments even when his hair was super short. Wish I had a picture to show you just how short his hair was.

OP, people are going to comment, but it doesn't take anything away from our precious babies.
